Rate The Hotels You´ve Stayed In In Ibiza!

Although I regularly rent a villa for the month of August, I have stayed in a number of different hotels on the island (usually during opening/closing weekends). Here is how I would rate those I stayed in:

-Hotel Hacienda (8 out of 10). I've stayed twice and will be staying again a few days in June. Beautiful hotel, stunning views especially at sunset, nice personnel and great food. Big drawback is the distance from anywhere. A long haul into Ibiza town. Wouldn't recommend it if you are planning to go out a fair bit. However, a few days of romantic seclusion - definitely. Very expensive.

-Hotel Anchorage (1 out of 10). Not sure this place exists anymore but it was in the Marina Botafoch above the stores/restaurants. Spartan rooms and damn expensive for what it was. Did not like this place.

-Les Terrasses (7 out of 10). A special place. Great setting (inland so no water views). A bit too close to main Ibiza - Sta Eulalia road so you can hear a constant hum of cars. Two beautiful pools. Gracious and friendly service. Nice rooms some with private gardens. Great food, particularly on Tuesday nights: Couscous. Mostly French clientele. Reasonably priced.

-Es Vive (1 out of 10). HATE IT! Although very friendly front desk staff, the rest is pure trash - the worst being the guests! Poser city and full of ugly British males and females. And the breakfast that is included in the rate: disgusting! No service! Bathroom was falling apart! Towels small and torn. Why does this place get so much publicity? It's all in the hype.

-El Hotel Pacha (4 out of 10). What a disappointment! I had one of the designer junior suites but still a disappointment. Service/staff not very pleasant. Toiletries were nice however! Pool is too small and seems like an after thought. Breakfast quite ordinary. But then again, hey, you are across the street from Pacha (so they gain points there). I do like the bar for a pre-Pacha drink.

-Pikes (4 out of 10). A legend that seriously disappoints. Everyone states this place as being the quintessential Ibiza. OK if you think Carnaby Street is quintessential London or Olvera Street quintessential L.A. Horrible, tiny room. Service not up to its prices. Ordinary people thinking they are extraordinary. Beautiful setting, though, especially as the sun sets. Again, mediocre breakfasts.

-Ocean Drive (2 out of 10). Plleeeeeassse! A designer hotel! Who's the designer? Cheap cheap cheap! The bedspread had disgusting stains and cigarette burns on it. Small room with supposed 'sea view'. Tiny bathroom. And no pool! Come on, in Ibiza????? Breakfast is only redeeming factor. I guess it just tasted so good knowing that shortly after I would be checking out of this place.

-In July, I am staying a few days at the Can Lluc near San Rafael. Any views?

Anyone been to the Galera? I know its 18-30 but theyre just getting rubbered, as long as the pool is in decent nick i'll be happy.

2002 - S'amfora ...very nice, no poolside curfew etc.

2004 - Laura ...bit more stricter with noise etc but decent layout. Both were clean enough.

;)

Sirenis Jabeque Aparthotel

We're returning there this year for the third time and would highly recommend it.

Very clean, quiet rooms, air conditioned, lovely pools, amazing views, friendly, helpful staff and well located between Playa D'en Bossa and Ibiza town. I can't imagine wanting to stay anywhere else .... 9/10.

I'm staying in the other Sirenis nearby. I think it's Sirenis Tres Carabelas.

RECOS DES SOL

I dont know if anyone has done this yet but I just wanted to add it in, so if anyone is going this year like I am they will know :)

Pros:

- Nice quietish pool area
- Pool Bar
- Pool music, last year was lots of house music, a Morillo cd if I recall right.
- Rooms were pretty standard but had everything you need
- Hotel wasnt rowdy and full of chavs throwing stuff about, mixed young people and a couple of families, perfect really.
- Indoor canteen/bar never went in till the last day but was really nice and clean
- Hotel is generally clean
- Lizards, if your on the bottom floor try and grab a lizard near the trees :)

Cons:

- 5-10min walk to the good bars, which is the only slight flaw in the hotel, I really cannot think of anything bad to say about this place.

I look forward to staying their again this year.

new place everytime i go there, thats a good way of getting around the Island on. except from the fact that i say that "this year ill stay in ibiza town" and then friends go and convince me again its ok to live in san an:roll:

QUOTE - Galera Too many 18-30 pissheads. Steer clear unless that's what you're after.

Hmm thats where im getting sent, actually with 18-30 but ive been with them before so they'll just be getting told to 'beat it' with their tickets to spank at summum to see Pat Sharp. Its only a bed...and there wont be much sleep getting done.

what is meant by the apolo being pikey exactamont??
scared now! yeah i know all you ibiza geeks think that 18-30's is baaaad but its cheap n i aint into that kinda thing so i will jus b havin a gud time with my m8s.ibiza virgin...but soon to lose it-bring on 15th july !!!

but seriously, pikey? is it that bad.....?

This July will be my first time going to Ibiza. Can't wait! My friend and I have booked a room at Hotel Mare Nostrum for 13 nights, and I read all of the posts on this forum and no one has mentioned it. Does any one know if it is as good as it looks on the web site ?

Thanks, and I hope to see you there!

Needing some help!?!?!

My friend and I are Ibiza virgins and are finalizing plans for our first trip in September........I have NO idea what part of the island to stay on or where to stay once I figure that out.

We want to be close to a beach, bars and obviously be club convienent!!!

We are coming from the US and want to get the full island experience.

Any and all help is much appriciated!!!!

Joe H.

To be honest, wherever you stay in ibiza, there is always easy access to the clubs with the exception of Portinatx and san miguel i guess.
If you want non stop bar action then San Antonio is probably for you.
Playa Den Bossa tends to be where all the clubbers and families hang out, has a lovely long beach and plenty of bars.
Or try Santa Eulalia for a more spanish feel, great beaches and some good bars.

Hi Guys,

I’m after booking a weeks hol. First time ever in Ibiza and cant wait. We’re staying in Port des Torrent, I was wondering has anyone ever stayed there and is it far from the main clubs, is it a quiet area?

Thanks in advance
