I'm very musically diverse in fact probably more so than most i know but im sorry this minimal is by far and away the worst genre of dance music ive ever heard and i include cheesy hardcore in that as well (not Real UK Hardcore 91-93 which is amazing), bear in mind ive been raving since 1990 so ive seen every scene there is to see in dance music ,this minimal is souless and mind numbingly boring, how anyone can dance to that or enjoy themselves listening to that garbage is beyond me.
Gimme funky house with piano's anyday, uplifting music you can dance to.
I'm so with you on that one bro!
I've been claiming for a few months now that 2007 is the worse year for electronic dance music in the past 15+ years, and it's all "thanks to" the minimal cr4p!
bring back those happy-hands-in-the-air funky house sounds we loved so much between the years 2000-2003... thats the way the (sunset) terrace should really sound like! 8)
I also agree with you on the 'AXWELL - I FOUND YOU' comment.
For me this is the biggest and most beloved tune of the year, and not because it was the biggest tune in Ibiza, but because it has such a diversity of sounds and beats in it, a great happy riff and stunning vocals - the perfect combination for a winner tune!
I'm also very satisfied with the productions of newcomers like deadmau5 or oldcomers like eric prdyz.
tunes like the following are the sound of the future:
deadmau5 - faxing berlin
deadmau5 & glenn morrison - contact
deadmau5 - arguru
deadmau5 - not exactly
pryda/eric prydz - agag
pryda/eric prydz - balaton
pryda/eric prydz - rymd
pryda/eric prydz - armed
pryda/eric prydz - muranyi
pryda/eric prydz - genesis
pryda/eric prydz - simbora
some great deep melodic tunes with thumping beats and sounds - just amazing!
those can destroy any dancefloor in a club while at the same time put a smile on your face when listening to them in the chill atmosphere and comfort of your own home!
