This years music

I'm very musically diverse in fact probably more so than most i know but im sorry this minimal is by far and away the worst genre of dance music ive ever heard and i include cheesy hardcore in that as well (not Real UK Hardcore 91-93 which is amazing), bear in mind ive been raving since 1990 so ive seen every scene there is to see in dance music ,this minimal is souless and mind numbingly boring, how anyone can dance to that or enjoy themselves listening to that garbage is beyond me.

Gimme funky house with piano's anyday, uplifting music you can dance to.;)

I'm so with you on that one bro!

I've been claiming for a few months now that 2007 is the worse year for electronic dance music in the past 15+ years, and it's all "thanks to" the minimal cr4p!

bring back those happy-hands-in-the-air funky house sounds we loved so much between the years 2000-2003... thats the way the (sunset) terrace should really sound like! 8)

I also agree with you on the 'AXWELL - I FOUND YOU' comment.
For me this is the biggest and most beloved tune of the year, and not because it was the biggest tune in Ibiza, but because it has such a diversity of sounds and beats in it, a great happy riff and stunning vocals - the perfect combination for a winner tune!

I'm also very satisfied with the productions of newcomers like deadmau5 or oldcomers like eric prdyz.
tunes like the following are the sound of the future:

deadmau5 - faxing berlin
deadmau5 & glenn morrison - contact
deadmau5 - arguru
deadmau5 - not exactly
pryda/eric prydz - agag
pryda/eric prydz - balaton
pryda/eric prydz - rymd
pryda/eric prydz - armed
pryda/eric prydz - muranyi
pryda/eric prydz - genesis
pryda/eric prydz - simbora

some great deep melodic tunes with thumping beats and sounds - just amazing!
those can destroy any dancefloor in a club while at the same time put a smile on your face when listening to them in the chill atmosphere and comfort of your own home!

maybe we're arguing in circles here.

whatever the situation, Ibiza is still the best place on earth

That is some sweeping statement to make,i highly think it would be the best place on earth, it's a great holiday destination sure but the best place on earth

philistines:rolleyes:

So just because we don't share the same opinion that Ibiza is "the greatest place on earth" you label us.....

Philistinism is a derogatory term used to describe a particular attitude or set of values. A person called a Philistine (in the relevant sense), is said to despise or undervalue art, beauty, intellectual content, and/or spiritual values. Philistines are also said to be materialistic, to favor conventional social values unthinkingly, and to favor forms of art that have a cheap and easy appeal (e.g. kitsch).
Philistinism affords a contrast to Bohemianism, as the character of a smugly conventional bourgeois social group perceived to lack all the desirably soulful 'bohemian' characteristics, especially an artistic temperament and a broad cultural horizon open to the avant-garde. To the chosen few, the 'Philistines' embodied a smug, anti-intellectual threatening majority, in the 'culture wars' of the 19th century.

Overpriced clubs, overpriced drinks, afterhours and daytime clubbing on the demise! Comercialism rearing its ugly head, clubs threatened with closure! Becoming more popular as a celebrity hideaway " because its supposed to be cool ". Music starting to be more non-rememorable than last year and everyone finally realising that narcotics are not legal on this beautiful white island!!!! Best place on earth??? Rip it all down and start again cos at one time i reckon you might just have been right......;)

So don't ever show your face in Ibiza again, and instead of spreading negative energies here move to Benidorm forums (or the likes), cause i can't find any logical reason for u to keep browsing these forums here!

But he is right mate, i know quite a few people who have been going since the early/mid 1990's and they all share a similar view, although it is still a wonderful place to visit and the clubs are mostly great it has taken a turn for the worse in recent years.

Yes but that is always shaky ground isnt it - in that I can imagine that someone going since the 1990's has been there - done that with the whole clubbing scene so whilst being a good point of reference their view is always going to be slightly jaded and biased given that it was all so new back then.

Basically I know when Im going to Ibiza that the drinks and clubs will be expensive and whilst I would say the drinks are overpriced I would disagree to a certain extent with the club tickets. Ive never come out of an Ibizan club and thought that was a waste of money - more like it was worth every single inflated euro!

wasn't like this when I were a lad.....the good old days.......I remember when this were all fields.

Good for them, however you missed my point.
My point is:
Why won't they just go away and not come back to Ibiza ever again, instead of crying all the time how good it was back in the days and how bad it is nowdays. What's the point in spreading thier bad thoughts here? Who are they trying to teach a lesson here and why?

I agree 100% See you down the front next year, though, yeah:lol:?

Semi seriously, Ibiza will never musically be as good for me in my heyday of 2001-2004 when good old funky house ruled the Bora Bora roost, and before funky house got found out for the nonsense that it probably is.

Nothing will ever beat hearing Sinclars I Feel For U, Kid Creme's Hypnotising, Backfired, Blackwater, ALCAZAR - CRYING AT THE DISCOTECH:D:D:D...

...But then I can never say every year hasn't thrown up a new musical experience that's opened my eyes and made me develop a new taste, and still delivered moments that make the ol' hairs get all perpendicular.

I wouldn't still go there if they were still knocking out the same (now tired) funky stuff, and when you get to my age:)lol:) you learn the appeal of going to nights out where you don't dictate the musical policy too closely.

But all that "2007 Electro Mix" noise has to go:lol::spank: Just have faith in mankind that no-one thinks it's got legs past another year at most.

everyones had their turn about minimal but know one seems to have mentioned the massive tidle wave of generic nastydirtysexyelectro tunes/promotions that are everywhere.

p.s hang on i forgot Twisted in the run up to electro.....and maybe Filthy....
