Ocean Beach

I actually blagged in there for free the first year it opened to check it out so I wasn't being prejudiced without having seen for myself first. It's not my scene in any way, Reality TV-style fantasy life with too many narcissists looking for attention from each other (or anyone passing by who might try to peek over the artificial hedging as in reality most inside are more interested in themselves than each other and so it doesn't really work :lol: )

I guess if the place is giving loads of people what they want he's on to a winner - it's not as if San Antoni has much competition on the pricey "plastic palazzo" front unlike PDB. But I agree this could just as easily be Miami, Dubai, or any other posing playground you'd find a Nikki Beach etc. and if this sort of place made up most of what the island had to offer I wouldn't still be going as I'm not personally interested in that. The prices are just as obscene for the rubbish you get in other overpriced beach clubs around the island (BM *cough* etc.), it's just that some of those at least make SOME effort to be "Boho chic" and blend into the island as they bring out your tasteless overpriced tapas and smoothie made with dio-dynamite crushed ice from a dodgy water source rather than being straight out eyesores in a man-made concrete jungle.

He is selling a few hours of dream to many who wish they could be living a life on the set of Geordie Shore or Love Island, Instagram influencers sponsored by merchandise promoters hob-nobbing in trendy places, or ailing club footballers in the VIP with their WAGs but are in reality probably stuck in shyte jobs in the UK instead. With enough vodka maybe that dream can be realized for a while and if that's what you aspire to then you can likely get what you're looking for here.

Not everyone who pops in to Ocean Beach fits this stereotype though. No doubt a few people just fancy some tunes and a break away from their hotel pool full of screaming kids in the day. Personally I'd rather splash the money on a cab to Salinas or somewhere nicer with some chilled grooves instead, would probably still come out far better off money wise and have a much nicer beach experience standing in the sea rather than in a pool warmed by piddle, but that takes a bit more effort than walking down the promenade to OBC and after days of getting mashed probably seems like a world away to many ;)
 
The thing with ocb is it gives the people that enjoy that scene a place to go. The day they spread there wings and fly to salinas is the day it really is all over

... some people do change though and when (if in some cases) they see and value what else there is on offer,perhaps move on to the next stage in their journey through life - that scene is likely then very easily left behind :lol: ! In the end it is only one beach club in San Antoni and provided the Municipality makes sure there's no proliferation of places like this there's a working creche for those in need :twisted:
 
is Ocean Beach actually decent? i've always had the impression it's just a load of people taking selfies for instagram. it's like 20+ euro's entry too right?

It’s pretty shite ,, but !! The food is actually ok . Best go there with a open mind.

For comedy value is good to just see how many girls are wearing swimming suits 4 sizes to small for themselves
 
Anywhere u got lot of posers, i go there to support friends as beside Ibiza sensations on wednesday i ve never been to Ocb other day except maybe one day included in a cream package boat party, pool party & club.
10€ on the whole, entrance door to 25 for Opening>Closing

They play House , there is sun , i don t expect more

I stumbled in once, after being up all night, and thought it was shite. In sayin that that, i was 35 at the time, i'm sure if i was 10 yrs younger i would've thought different
 
it represents everything that is vacuous about Ibiza. It is aimed at people who could be anywhere on holiday, soundtracked by music I dislike and packed with the kind of English I left England to get away from. And most heinous of all, it's filled with people younger, more fun and better looking than me.

why is OBC considered to be 'bellends' by you? if you like places like the westend strip, then im sure you wouldnt like for people to call it 'bellends'. either way ibiza is diverse, regardless of gender, fashion, race, etc and thats what makes it so great.

i can understand that people don't like the vip vibe, the crowd that it can attract but when i'm at this place i don't really care, it just the music & its not cheezy, a lot of funky House Music anthems (i can't talk about sunday as ive never bee nthere on this day), don't expect to listen to some "underground" tunes & so on, we are there to dance & not to extend our music culture :rolleyes: (Google is ur best friend for this :lol:)

if some people can't have fun or can't dance there , just go phishing :D

ps:if i care about people i will go out in no place as lot of wankers anywhere

Younger and better looking,generally yes. More fun certainly not ,that's why they're at OBC. plastic,soulless,tacky and ugly...

@ FGP - you routinely contradict yourself on here.

FGP 1 - i lurvve pure house music, I go to best club in Paris, I know everyone, everyone knows me, I am el capitan
FGP 2 - it's only house music, just dance, go and be cool somewhere else, be a nerd on discogs or whatever
FGP 3 - I hate house music, I am a rock god, insert random country and western clip from 1972
 
i don't have knowledge in dance music & don't care (i'm more into mastering my drums than knowing the top tracks of the last 2 decades :lol: )

i don't go anymore in clubs in Paris, too old exception done along ibz trip for a 1-2 years :D

My pseudo come from famous Icon/country artist , still time to worship real authentic Rock artist & not the overrated one (eg Kurt Cobain) the whole mass are keen on

Whatever, Ocean beach is a nice place i advise to all to go unless hating funky "commercial" tune
drinks are same as big clubs but cocktails (14€) & not hard drinks.
Go there around 4h30pm as its very quiet before.
