European Festivals

Loveland saturday was very good.
Patrice Baumel good, but I think the heatwave was the reason for him to play a very dreamy not high energy set and you could really see the audience was too tired of the heat to dance.
Dixon was really good, so diverse and bringing the energy up. Agents of Time live came right after him...ugh...went straight to Paco Osuna who was playing a decent house set. Jaimie Jones b2b Loco Dice was good, but the heat got the best of me and went home early.

On Sunday I think I experienced one of the best parties of my life, if not the best.
Keinemusik at Woodstock Bloemendaal Beach with Adam Port, &ME and Rampa all day/evening long. We got in early and danced quite close to the booth and then noticed these guys were just planning to vibe with the audience around them, no vips or wristbands...so we ended up in the dj booth with them, sharing tequila and food and having fun. The vibe was insane, every track with a build up to make the crowd go crazy. Seeing this from the booth with view on the sunset on the beach and the crowd going insane...can't describe it, once in a lifetime.
Seen videos of Woodstock looked great!

Glad you are getting out and about to festivals, remember when we were moaning that we couldn't go to festivals due to cancellations and rising C (I won't say the word) it seems like another life!

Enjoy life when you can! Goes by so quick don't know what will happen

Warning grumpy old bloke post 🙃

I ordered etickets for Field Day and they have only been released.today 4 days before, to get the etickets you need to download the festival app then register for something called AXS. Judging by social media a lot of people having issues with it all syncing, tho luckily I've just sorted mine out.

Know they worry about counterfeiting but what happened to the good old days of just being posted a ticket or even being emailed a PDF? I just want to rave!

After this and a load of faff with Train and Tube strikes the gig better be good!

I was wondering how you got in there! Result!

It’s a shocker. They used it for Elton John and basically impossible to sell your ticket, so my missus lost out on £120 as she had covid ! Wankers

Enjoyed Field Day, great organisation on the day despite the annoying Ticket App.

Started a bit too early and feeling the pain today though! And it's either increasing age or the hard ground on the field but my legs are aching 😴

So We Out Here festival lived up to its reputation. At last, a music festival which is all about music. Such a wide scope over the weekend. Fabio and Grooverider & the Outlook Orchestra, Surprise Chef, Patrick Forge, Leo Zero, Greg Wilson. The list goes on and on. Attention to the various sound system around the site was spot on. Function One always delivered.
The crowd were relaxed, fun and friendly. Even the artists were like this. We just was expecting a quick hello from Mixmaster Morris but instead he was with us for 2 or 3 hours telling us some interesting stories. Cafe Del Mar was mentioned in not so glowing terms. A real friendly guy.
Even our 10am set on Saturday morning turned into something incredibly uplifting. A great way to sort out a hangover from the night before.
If you get the chance, go. You won’t be disappointed and nor were we.

I went up on the Saturday. Was such a great festival in a beautiful setting. Best crowd I've encountered at a festival and now wish I went for the whole weekend! Loved the Forest/Woodland in the early hours of Sunday.

Possession fest in Paris at the weekend was insane, drink prices were a little lairy but as to be expected. For their debut festival it was a success though

We were bouncing round in the woods on Saturday night to Luke Una. We kept gravitating to that area as the night wore on.

Last saturday it was time for Elrow Town Holland. Little background on this: It used to be in Amsterdam (2018, 2019 and 2021), but the mayor / political movement is really pushing festivals out of the city. Also, this date collided with the F1 in Zandvoort (not that far from Amsterdam) so there was a major pressure on the transportation to and from the festival. So this year the festival took place about an hour drive from Amsterdam...really nice and spacious location, but a pain in the ass to get there for most people. Also, they had to cut down the visitor numbers from 35.000 to 25.000 because of lack of security (all occupied with the 100.000 visitors per day at the F1).

As for the festival itself, we really liked this edition. Elrow brought the big Rowmudas ship / octopus stage they used in earlier editions in Madrid and Malaga and two huge tents. I've been to many festivals this year, but no other organization puts so much effort in the stage designs.
Line up was okay... enjoyed Jamie Jones, Kerri Chandler, Dan Shake, Bastian Bux and avoided the likes of Wade & Claptone.
While I really like her, this time Ida Engberg didnt really match with the audience. Her track selection was nice (Maceo Plex - Solitary Days during sunset) but her timing (or slot in the timetable) was badly chosen and I was surprised she didnt play her Awakenings style set because everyone could feel the main stage audience needed something more powerful at that point in time.

This was the last big festival in the Netherlands for me this summer. DGTL, PIV, Nobody is not Loved, Mystic Garden, Awakenings, Loveland, Elrow Town. It has been an amazing time after the two year hiatus. Now almost time to travel to Croatia to really close this summer on Elrow Island.

Back from ION festival in Albania a couple of days ago. Didn’t really know what to expect to be honest but put fancied something a bit different and put faith in the promoters LWE who always run events well in London.

Was a great experience overall. A few hiccups with the travelling side of things which meant they had about 6/7 DJs pull out short notice but still a brilliant lineup. A really beautiful and underestimated country/area, much more developed than you might imagine but still with some proper unique settings for party’s, we got a speedboat to an isolated canyon to watch 4 hours of Daniel avery b2b Roman flügel, another one set up a stage on an old fort in the middle of nowhere and all the stages had beach/ sea views and weather top notch.

Seems like more and more festivals going towards this area and sure it won’t be long before it’s getting the dreaded ‘new Ibiza’ tag, tbh did feel some Ibiza-ery vibes out there at times for sure!

Back from Elrow Island for a few days now...but still recovering. 😴
3 days and 3 nights of raving with some short sleep in between in our lodge is not easy on the body and mind on my age.
But WOW what an experience again. Was there last year too, but this year it was a bit more relaxed, less covid stress and more go with the flow.
Took place on the island Obonjan, about an hour from the coast of Sibenik, Croatia. Every day a nice housy poolparty, followed up by a beach sunset party at an amazing stage and then followed by a daily changing location where they had an Elrow themed mainstage set up for the night till sunrise. Only hours without dj's playing music anywhere on the island were from 07.00 / 08.00 till about 12.00 o clock.
Heard some great sets by veteran DJ Spen, Baum, Paco Osuna, Fleur Shore, Ida Engberg, Ben Sterling, Marco Faraone and Archie Hamilton.

It's a Tour not a Festival but didn't know where else to shove my comments, but just seen Swedish House Mafia have cancelled several European dates due to poor ticket sales.

In the UK it isn't going well, I'm bombarded with social media ads. They are playing huge arenas and the gigs are midweek that doesn't help tho.

Convenanza's on this weekend in Carcassonne and there are still tix passing hands on the alfos fb group - the first one since Wevvers passed so bound to be emotional. Will be blindingly good. Sadly ran out of leave time for this year.
I’m seeing a few posts on FB of lots of people having a great time last night. It’s on my list of things to do before I get much older.

I've been to 3 now. Genuinely unlike anything else I've ever experienced. Curious as to how it went without AW for first time. He was the focal point so I think this is probably a bit of a 'test' year to see where they can take it
