Aha yeah at least you could still say to people your going to Spanish City

Hopefully we will get a scorcher of a summer again like in 2018! We won’t have any need to go abroad then.

I’m still waiting for this global warming disaster to hit us, apparently it’ll push the UK climate a lot higher.

Could turn our little island into a tourist trap with all our seaside towns.

We can then start charging the Spanish £12 for a bottle of water in our nightclubs then :D ?

I think it was just yesterday or today when I read that within 80 years (OK, most of us won't be alive anymore by then), ibiza town and the surrounding flat area (airport, san jordi, figueretas, talamanca, jesus) will be all underwater.

:(

found it

back to the original question - as explained in the ibiza updates thread, either 1st of july for international tourism, or if the regional government's request will be granted, already on the 15th june.

can't say anything yet on clubs, but fact is, a lot of pondering and thinking going on everywhere.

Any thoughts on when the uk gov will change their travel advice so peeps will be able to travel (with valid insurance etc)

Currently: "the FCO advises British nationals against all but essential international travel"

you may have read on here that from phase III of the spanish de-escalation programme onwards, clubs may open (with limited capacity of course). you may also have read that the balearic government today has requested we move into that phase next monday. but at the same time they requested (with the central government who decides) that clubs shouldn't be opening yet in that phase.

we'll see what happens in the 'new normal' period...

... and the Ocio Ibiza association agrees with it!

It makes sense.

Has anybody considered maybe putting a cap on the number of visitors to the island? No good having Augusts normal attendance wandering the island with nowhere to go?
