Not comparable at all, especially for Brits.
The ferry is perfect for seasoners, Spanish, French or north Italian people who stay at least 2 weeks.

Wow. I just put next year as my vote. It simply doesn't make sense to me to have one this year. But I'm no expert. I'm just thinking there's a chance that the virus on the island is going to disintegrate with time and no continued exposure. I'm guessing that the tourism is vital though. If that's the case, I don't know what should be done. In my own environment though I have made lots of suggestions to try and government finance a long-term quarantine.

Gonna look for a via Barcelona trip for December.. won't book anything yet will wait to see how September and October go for the Party people.... have a mate in Barcelona until March probably stay Thursday with him and Friday - Monday in ibiza fly back to Dublin on Tuesday... All going well.. it will be our 10yr on here and 10 anniversary of our first out of season trip that was epic.. guest list, lock ins hookers ? the whole 9 yards.. @McRackin .. you might finally get to buy me that beer..?

Ibiza really needs to sort out prices if they want tourist, people can't afford to spend much to go and spend as before
Question of point of view...
You think it's pricey for two people AND a car, but I can come with a lot of food, wine, etc... And I don't have to rent a car(and this f***ing deposit they ask), and like I always stay more than 10 days when I come, it's not a lot more expensive for me than by plane.
I don't have to support all the stupid controls in airports, i don't have to pay a prohibited parking in my local airport, I'm not stressed about the car, and I like the idea that my trip is better for my planet than by plane.
I don't spend money in Clubs tickets (guest list or I don't go), which help a lot to save money in ibiza ?
Ibiza is pricey if you want it to be pricey.
You and I have a total different way of living ibiza.
You stay 4 days and spend a lot in clubs.
I stay weeks and spend almost nothing in clubs.
You also have the chance to live in Madrid and can have direct flights all year round at a reasonable price.
I just have direct flights in July and August from my town, wich are two months I generally never come to ibiza.
So if I want to come by plane in September or June, I have to do LYON-BCN-IBZ, and it's as expensive (around 500€ for 2 ppl) as by ferry.
And this feeling when you arrive by boat at 6am, with the sunrise on the Portlnatx lighthouse is priceless for me...

I love that ferry. Esp with cabin at night and docking in ibz at dawn. Can't really describe it but a wonderful feeling

Only done the one round trip and it's already my preferred method.

I quite enjoy the airport ritual, but from the moment you get to the gate to the point you pass through customs the other side it's nothing but a headache. And that's just pre-pandemic

Anybody driven from the UK to Ibiza? Wondering what's a decent route?

check this thread >

we moved to BCN for good in 2016. sadly had to sell my British car. Hopef will replace one day if we move out of the city.

re flying, you'd probably have to drug me like Mr T to get me on a plane now.

wish i was confident driving abroad we have often contemplated the drive across at least once but always end up pussying out last minute and booked flights, the thought is great but just seems in our case it is taken away from what a holiday is about and that's no pressure and good times
