the expression "our house is your house" has turned literally in "our house IS your house"...

I have to say I agree on this. I just thought about this today when stuck in a traffic jam (had to use the car for something, normally use the scooter where you don't get stuck in traffic).

the traffic has grown so much here it's really ridiculous. I've said it before, if you want to go into town best to leave your car outside town and walk in or take a taxi. there are other hot points too such as the entry/exit into san antonio, the road that connects ibiza town with santa eularia...

the number of cars on the island should 100% be limited. it must happen soon.

I've never actually been in July or August...

Just how bad is it!??! I'm getting mental pictures of Oxford Street in London... Or Times Square, NYC!!!!:spank:

Do the island politicians ever talk about limiting numbers? Just seems like every year it gets bigger and the season gets longer.

Someone will do something stupid and something shit will happen to the detriment of the island. Some of the scenes in the stupidity thread include so many close shaves last peak season. With a huge influx comes a percentage of idiots. Respect the island, its people, your fellow visitor and don't be a dick. That simple mantra should be on a billboard in the arrivals hall at the airport.

yeah but that is actually good. more early season tourists are good IMO, it's the main season where things can't continue to grow

I would've thought it would be a bad idea... How many of those people in the additional 34% would be new people to the island, who then might want to come back again in the peak season or go home and tell everyone how they should go to the island, meaning yet more peak season numbers...

peak season can't really get any busier than it's been last year.

also, a 34% raise on april numbers sounds like a huge growth, but as the actual numbers in april aren't that high, it's not as crass as you might think

Airport arrivals in August 2016 was approx 1,4M and April 2016 approx 340k

34% raise is roughly around 115k plus in April.
