Weekend Plans

I would dearly love to have been at Gozo at Cova Santa losing myself in Dekmantel et al, but still had an enjoyable social with some pals on a rooftop here at the weekend, immersed in great food and music, watching the city skies light up for Sant Joan celebrations. I don't know what this country's obsession is with gratuitous explosions but I guess you just get used to it over time.

*Back to earth and got a couple of clients but could do with some more creative projects (content, SEO, copy etc) to see us through the summer if anyone off here knows anyone hiring right now?

European Festivals

Man, 909 was one of my favourite festivals ever! Perfect organisation, no dull minute, music on point on every floor with some of my favourite DJs in the world. Actually chose 909 because of its techno-focus. Was my first Dutch festival and I loved it. That crowd was so up for it, friendly and...

The weekend has started! (Hopefully) fly to Amsterdam tomorrow (I say hopefully as lots of easyJet flights got cancelled today), then train to Zandvoort ready to head to Luminosity festival Saturday and Sunday 😎

Monday - probably will want to cry a lot. Fly home in the evening. Thankfully I’ve booked Tuesday off to recover!
 
Third of this years shorter weekend hops.

Not going to bus it around this time and just "relax" in San An.

Loose plans of Space @ Eden on Friday if the flight is not delayed.

Pikes on Monday for my actual birthday and we've grabbed the guestlist as well for Sat & Sun so we'll see if the fancy takes us and how we're holding up!

Saturday watching (and praying we improve or adios) the football - last one I watched in Ibiza was in the OK Corral back in '98 when Owen announced his arrival against Argentina & Beckham got sent off. We had BBC Radio commentary and Spanish TV which meant it was a split second ahead on the sound so we knew Owen scored :-)

Also booked in to try Aragma, the new Greek place by the Tapas owners, on Monday.

But mostly days will be caro des moro swimming, Golden Buddha chilling and Gran Sol pool lazy days

Pretty bangin'. Interesting that they decided to do three nights at the Barrowlands rather than opting for a night at the Hydro or something. Played for two hours solid (I guess making up for the fact that it was just DJ Shit Robot for support). Crowd were really up for it, as you can imagine. Didn't have any new material to play - most recent was New Body Rhumba. James Murphy looks like he's been going to the gym. :lol: As good a show as any current band, though sparkle has gone just slightly for me as that was my 5th time seeing them.

Unless they do something new I'm probably done too tbh. When your heroes go full heritage act, it's game over. Overexposure kills music.

That said I did consider taking my Mum to see McCartney in Madrid but the sheer expense was prohibitive and the voice is shot anyway.

Dunno if any other legends are really worth it tbh. I'd rather see lesser known live psychedelic stuff locally with minimal hype and expense.

I think getting covid has ruined the whole thing tbh. It was a great experience though, lots of dancing on the beach and a great crowd but missed all the djs I really wanted to see as my head wasn’t in it. Zandvoort is a lovely place though!
 
Friday - Arsenal session and pizza with my boys, hopefully get to watch Portugal France when I get back

Saturday - my 50th birthday will start with a 5.30am alarm to martial the family down to Arsenal, 7am meet for the coach to Chelsea's training ground. Eldest boy is playing in a disability tournament down there. Coach due back at 4pm, so hopefully home in time for England vs Switzerland

Sunday - errands in the morning picking my brother-in-law up so he can work on my folks' house, then helping with clean up at the kids' rugby clubhouse.

Fri - quiet

Sat - Hopefully go gym early doora, not been for two weeks due to Vegas/Glastonbury. Son's football training, like @Buckley it's my birthday but we are celebrating my son's 6th with his friends at a jump centre. I don't really need a session, been out for about four weeks and two big weekends coming up but the England game is on and there's a Charity walk where I will miss the walk but ends with thousands in a village partying in the streets to dance music. Will-power is low 🙃

Sun - meeting a couple with their new born at a country pub at lunch
 
Never been on such a bad fight. No control. Vaping. Stood up on approach. So much noise for 2 hours. Absolutely bolloxed people. Did not feel safe if a problem. La guardia meeting someone from the plane

Anyway here and ready for Space in Eden. Legged it through immigration and grabbed a taxi in 30 minutes.

Hierbas con hielo'd up.
