The Olympics

I was in a pub in Clapham last night, 6.30, sunny evening, everyone finished work for the weekend and the cycling was on on the big screens. When GB were on the track and then won Gold it was like England had just scored a goal in the World Cup Final :D I found myself jumping out my seat the other day at canoeing and shooting for god sake :D London has really embraced it, union flags and team GB tshirts everywhere
 
Just watching the tennis and i can't help but think that serena williams really shouldn't be playing in the womens game it's not at all fair.

If Spain and the USA make it to the finals, I think it will be a good game. The world championships came down to the last minutes. The USA are short of big men which could mean trouble. I still pick the USA to win the gold and Silver to the Spanish.;)

Looks to me like Lebron and co will in gold. As my fav team is Miami Heat I'm good with, I love the Game.....8)

I've been loving the olympics...been great tv, and even me (a cynical miserable bastard) has got caught up in backing team GB, getting a bit carried away watching the rowing this morning :)

pleasing to see how everyone is getting into the Olympics , and what a success the country has made of hosting them.
 
Loving how the Olympics are bringing out the best in the British. Just a wee bit sad that the spijn-off economic benefits seem to be falling so short of expectations.

Hotels in London half-empty. Play park in Weymouth gone into administration yesterday as footfall was 1/2 that expected. Unsold tickets everywhere due to keeping them back from true sports fans. I do wonder how much damage all the media bashing prior to the Games did in the end. Looking at how wrong the doom-meisters got it, and seemingly how many people believed them and made other plans, one almost understands the press controls the Chinese put in place ! There are times when free press can be a total liability it seems :?:

It'll be interesting to see just how quickly the press moves on from all the good news to the bad. Pretty quickly I'd imagine.

Men's 100m final tonight, 9:45pm, definitely one to catch.
 
The women's beach volleyball is eye catching.;) GBR has done a great job putting on the games and is in third place in the medals. Well done!
 
Great 100m final, Bolt dominant again.

Seemed to me that whoever threw the bottle when all the athletes were in the set position, wanted to disrupt it, hope they find whoever it was and roast them over the flame. :evil:
 
Loving the Olympics atm.

We are doing sooooooooooo much better than i ever could of envisaged. So exciting to watch - which i never thought i would hear myself say. The bf and me literally had it on all day, flicking between the athletics and the tennis :D

Was a real olympic cynic , "travel will meltdown etc etc"
Ive had no problems in my travels and watching the games even just on tv is great. For me Mo Farrah winning has been my highlight, my whole family standing shouting at the tv was a nice moment.
Still think Bolt could go a fair bit faster if everything came together
