Really ? What Space tour did you go to this year ?

None,did i miss something?

If a brand is successful why not take it on tour, it gives people the chance to see their fave DJ's again in the UK and maybe introduce some new ravers to the brand.

Brand...brand......brand.....branding.....branding.............braaannndddd.....russelllll.....brand....bbbbrrrrrrrrannnnd...

The Elrow & Space tours have sold out, people are enjoying them

People enjoy McDonald's.

I think the brands should be exclusivly for Ibiza. I would go to music on or el row cus I know that they are good parties and I can only see them in Ibiza...now u can see them anywhere, especially el row

Well elrow is a originally a Barcelona party but I get what you mean. These big brands are just cashing in with their tours

i have no problem with parties big in ibiza doing events abroad. it supports their artists in the winter months for a start. And you dont seriously go to a CircoLoco event in birmingham thinking it will compete with the original , but it might be the only way to see Tani Vulcano in the uk for example

Elrow are doing a weekend event in Manchester. It was 40 quid per ticket per day and the line up isn't even out. WT actual F?

I blame social media. it gives far to many idiots a platform to show off and these parties that we are now calling brands are the perfect setting for a picture or video. Those tickets for 40 quid with no lineup announced will sell out because its the next chance to hashtag #YOLO or some bullshit like that

Who plays for the elrows... ive never heard of any of them when checked..not my scene really Lios, inflated Palm trees..twaats aplenty having fake forced fun...wild times:rolleyes:

See the way i look at it, at least in the states, you get all these promoters that "lend" their name to a local promoter. So you get CircoLoco in new york or Hyte new york, Awakenings new york, etc and what it becomes really is a joke. Most people that attend have never attended these events in Ibiza or Amsterdam or wherever their home base is so they dont have anything to compare to. But having done the events, both home in new york and abroad in their rightful home, its absolutely shameful what they bring here to the states. Not having been to Mannheim and im sure it didnt even close to compare, but i think Time Warp in new york was done very well with production, sound, lineup, and overall vibe. So while you can always get to some of these events while they are "on tour", i would never compare it to the original version.

Couldn't have said it better and is totally in line with my thoughts above.

At last someone who understands the tours !

If you buy early enough you can generally see some excellent DJs for £20 or less, I have seen Tania Vulcano for £1, Jason Bye & Roger Sanchez with the ABODE collective for £10, and Carl Cox/Hot Since/Dubfire for £25...I and all the other people who make them sell out have a great time. And I would pay £40 to see great Dj's and listen to amazing music for 9 hours no problem at all.

The Space tour was so successful at Brighton and the 02 that they will be holding at least 4 more next year, the feedback was superb. Of course they are making money, despite some of the high fee's the DJ's charge and all the admin they have to do in the background, I have no issue with that, its called business.

Social media not only lets people see how good the clubs are but it also supports the DJ's and helps even the smaller lesser known DJ's break through, and if you follow them, where and when they will be playing next.

They don't sell out because its the next chance to hashtag, that is ridiculous, they sell out because they are great night out and the Dj's will be on point, well organised in a great venue.

Some of you slag off the tours and you have never even been, always makes me chuckle, the internet has you made experts on the brand tours you haven't even experienced.

plus: the tour-events bring people into the original in Ibiza. When you had a great time at an elrow birmingham event in january you'll very likely check out the elrow party when you're on the island. it's about getting the brand-name out to potential ibiza-tourists.

At the end of the day i suppose its down to the individual and there idea of a party. I am sure these events work for a lot of people and the fact £40 tickets sell out when no lineup has been announced proves that. But for me the words party and brand should not be in the same sentance and i think its a shame that these nights are spoke about as brands like some off the shelf package. At the end of the day its a party and i think that is what gets lost to often. When i talk about social media and hashtags i mean these parties do have an element of look at me im here about it. I have been and i see people just standing around hardly moving other than to raise a phone in the air. Although i also blame K for the lack of movement. Give me a sweaty dark room with a few hundred people rushing. I just dont like the idea that its all become about a brand. Having said that i think that can be said about a lot of things these days not just raving

Yes there are people filming or putting pics on FB/insta, but they are minority and as I've said many times before it doesn't bother me or affect my night in anyway. K is big with the twentys I agree.

I prefer the smaller 300 max venues as well, I still go to those kind of nights.

Elrow ( as an example ) for £40 people already know the line up will be good, you can be assured of that.

The Space tour at the 02 were on 4th release before they even confirmed the venue, and I bought tickets for The Winter Social March and Junction 2 in June before the first phase line up was announced and already Iam not disappointed.

Forget they are a brand, if you like the line then go, If not then don't simple as that, as you say it's a choice, but remember they also have capital, not every promoter can afford or attract the DJ's they can.

An elrow party is as much about being an elrow (as in the brand) party as it is the djs. It's all about the vibe they create with their weird shit. Some people love that. It IS about the vibe the BRAND creates, no doubt. It's a little like Manumission was back in the day. Nothing wrong with that in my view. I respect it just as much as going to see a great DJ for the sake of the DJ.

I went to elrow in Barcelona before it was even in Ibiza, with not a single dj I knew and it was amazing, proper raw too. OK, the music may not have been as good as if my fave djs were playing, but the vibe was immense. I went to manumission purely because it was manumission. Guess what - bloody amazeballs!

Reading some of the above post's is proof enough that there will never be another space. 20 or 30 years ago you would have been queuing up outside a leisure center waiting to get into a radio 1 roadshow. It's lucky some of us were hopping about in old warehouse to djs we had never heard of,who were playing for the love of it...

slight of the topic name space but mambo are also doing touring, they have night in Glasgow tomorrow at the social-used to be a good bar but more vip oriented now and yes for a bottle of spirits and mixer matches Ibiza prices, only thing is that the weather is crap for the morra so no sunset lol

Go Brightside...Paul Ridney is a talent DJ, the song played by Space of them videoing round the club a few days later after the closing Is one of his.

Come to this late, but man do you think we all take life too seriously sometimes?

We seem to be arguing that branded parties are so pure in Ibiza that doing them outside the island is criminal.

It makes good promotional sense to expose your party outside of Ibiza. For obvious reasons this will help to build a connection with people and sell the ibiza brand, make a 16 year old who popped his first pill in Bristol after he blagged his way into a Circo Loco party want to go to Ibiza and then go to the same party in Ibiza.

I think Maceo has a few London Mosaic coming up. Brilliant move when you're trying to build a new party that probably didn't have many Brits at it last year. With Coxy gone, this makes good sense.

And this is nothing new! I even recall the likes of Cox, Tong and Jules doing a "Ibiza United" night at Pacha London in early 00s. Again.... good for brand Ibiza.

A hell of a lot of Brits that now go to Ibiza probably went to a Circo Loco party in the UK before they go to the real thing. And blah blah blah it's not the same etc etc, but it's an introduction and it sells the brand and the island. Ants/Ushuaia are currently doing a brilliant job with this too.
