The end of the West End?

I have a question… sorry if it has been answered already 🙈 but what about those who walk up to cafe mambo and purchase wine and drinks from the shop on the way… and sit on the wall/beach to watch the sun set and drink said wine (and refuse to pay minimum 200 euros to sit at mambos for the same 5euros drinks) ……is this still allowed? Or is it patrolled?!

That's still fine. The area with the ban conveniently stops before the sunset strip!

I just don't get it, I remember the ban on balloons being sold in the clubs and the clamp downs that followed. Now it's almost as if the police turn a blind eye to the dozens and dozens of balloon sellers in San Antonio. Crazy

Always have a soft spot and full of nostalgia for the West End....Most of us maybe started there..but when the atmosphere changes and the violence hits the air it's time to leave
Surely they can't shut the old place down altogether...what will the Sant Antoni workers do if they loss the Ship Inn etc,beside the square at the church

Ship Inn is no longer

There are less British workers like you'd see 10/20/30 years ago, it's too expensive to rent a room so going over for a summer to earn money isn't a thing now. It's either people who can afford to make a loss, or local workers.

When we talk about the West End, are we talking about from the egg...right along the promenade .
Where does the West End start and finish...because it looks as if the West End as we know it ,is finished...Sant Antoni De Portmany Town Hall etc..have big plans for that area...indeed for the full coastline,as you all know.
A lot of the coastline is unrecognizable to us from 20 years ago....to 2024.
 
Joe Spoons,Gorms Garage,The Irish Bars,play 2,the old-school record shop,takeaways etc....with "nightlife "..at the bottom of the main drag....to Es Paradis....Is this what they call the West End....their used to be a good Spanish disco ,just off these streets
 
If in doubt,come into the West End from another direction and go to the square at the top of "bar street and chill outside the church....there are many fine restaurants and shops all over the area,including cafes and bakeries.

This will improve the look of the West End. Brave being the first.
 
Anyone brave enough to venture into the west end at this time in the morning are there for a reason....the medical centre,then left ...a beautiful walk...all the way to Cala Des Moro beach...La Sirena shops.⛺️..fruit shops,bakeries,clothes shops,and finally,when you make it back to your hotel..🍀..the club 18-30 party people,are not even home yet🇪🇸😁🇪🇸😁
 
What we are trying to do here is find out ,honestly, what the feeling on the island is,at this time in the morning ....the only way you can properly do it...is on foot,by bus and water taxi.
Most people will now be safely back in their accommodation, hopefully having breakfast🇪🇸👍🇪🇸....or even better,back in somebody else's hotel...if you have been lucky and met your soul mate or twin flame(holiday romance)⛺️👍🇪🇸
