My first year at Space was 2013 and was defo VIP for Revolution parties at least.

In 2017, if the marketing is good enough, people are just too keen to consume the product to realise that it isn't good for them

My opinion differs greatly to a lot of people on this forum,but I don't consider all of them tools for having a different opinion to me. The person in question is a tool though.

I haven't said anything other than wait until its open before you judge it which is just plain common sense! Not once have I said yes its amazing they have more VIP I actually think the opposite and wish they didn't have any VIP because it would be much better.

But considering VIP is in every other club nearly just as much as will be here, and yes even in Space when it was there, I don't see why this venue wont be able to throw a good night.

If you can give me a reason why you have so much hate for this venue, not the people who run it, but the actual venue when you haven't even seen it yet please tell me. Because all I see is someone who has a bitter grudge against a venue just because its where space used to be!

I understand if you don't ever want to go and I couldn't careless and I really do wish the VIP would p*** off somewhere else for there holidays but this is a new venue, with a new soundsystem, a club room which sounds like it has real promise and some half decent underground nights, not the best but its a start.

If you don't want to go that's fine don't but I don't see why you feel the need to put it down and anyone who is slightly interested in going, seriously mate grow up!

Please explain to me while I'm a tool as well? Because like said above all I see is its because I have an opinion on the club which isn't the same as yours! And tbh I don't even have an opinion yet! All I'm saying is wait till you see it before coming to all these conclusions!

This whole Space love-fest is becoming a little embarrassing. Yeah it was a great club but its gone now, get over it!

And for those saying they wont go because of who the owner is etc. fine dont go! but personally, if there was a DJ/line-up that really took my fancy that night then i wouldnt miss a potentially decent night out just because i dont like the owner!

Some people save up all year round for there Ibiza trips and to have a go at some people for wanting to check out a new venue to see a DJ they like is a bit ridiculous!!

Yes I agree and by all means do that and make a stand but why just against this one club that hasn't even opened? I wish it wasn't the case but all the other clubs started VIP way before this one was even in the minds of the people making it! No one has been slagging the other venues to pieces and saying they will never go back are they? Everyone happily rocks up to Amnesia and Pacha and Space when it was here and its only after this Ushuaia and Hi have come along and capitalised on the exact thing the other venues showed would make you a shit load of money.

You look at Ocean Beach, Blue Marlin and all these types of venues bringing the VIPs over in there masses already!! It not just Hi so I don't see why everyone feels the need to dig them to pieces if you wanted to stand up that should have been done years ago but it wasn't and now that ship has sailed mate it and it aint gunna change.

It shouldn't have needed HI to come along to make all this blow up into what it has, they are just taking the full brunt of what every other venue has been doing for years and they haven't even opened yet

This I completely understand, this is a completely normal and understandable reason for not wanting to go. As much as I still think it would be worth trying out if the right night for you was there I still get that view! What I don't get it people getting so mad about this venue because of the VIP presence and saying they wont go because of it when its been on the island long before HI!

I think the reason people feel so off about Hi is that it's a part of the whole Ushuaia thing the club that loves vips in its own words and it's a culture with dress codes and other rubbish whereas with space I never even noticed the VIP and yiu could go there in beach clothes or anything. I saw a comment with a picture used by hard rock hotel on a social media site which said 'life is a game, have you passed?' It was a pic of a girl in their spa it's like the whole brand is if you are poor you are scum. I thought it was a horrible comment myself. That's what all that brand is about Ushuaia etc and house music was never about that.

because when they opened Ushuaia it was the first time they wholesale lifted the club template from Vegas and transplanted it to Ibz. Same with Ocean Beach, although it's not strictly a 'club' so maybe doesn't fall into the same bracket.

saying 'the ship has sailed' is such a defeatist attitude, and so you'll find some ppl on this forum still care enough about what is happening to a place they love, to try to at least raise their voices against it.

name calling ain't cool, but does go someway towards showing how strongly ppl feel about their culture being rebranded and sold back to them as the antithesis of what it was
 
Full respect to everyone still fighting a rearguard offensive on this but I pretty much admitted defeat ages ago. The bare truth is that PDB is not aimed at our ilk anymore

I completely understand and I get it but my point is why not say this against Amnesia and Pacha and Space when it was here? They all promoted VIP an awful lot and they still do. I'm not saying they did from day one but they saw there was a market for VIP and capitalised on it in the same may HI and Ushuaia do.

Why just go after Ushuaia and Hi? They probably only came and set up these clubs because they realised the others had big booming VIP clientele who would go there.
