for a while, I was convinced they were the same person!
they´ve got the same energy and dedication for partying, but AFAIK fusion does like a good dose of techno every now and then!

Dates you were there:12th-17th August
Where you stayed (resort/hotel): Rented an apartment above Cafe Del Mar. Very nice place with amazing balcony views over the sunset strip and the famous sunset.
Club nights visited: Elrow @ Amnesia, Abode @ Sankeys, Cocoon @ Amnesia, Together @ Amnesia , Paradise @ DC10
Best night: This is a tough one because both were fantastic. Elrow was absolutely heaving with people but once we got a good spot on the terrace it was game on. We were all high off first night excitement and nothing was going to stop us having a good night. the little door/alley between the main room and terrace was a bit of nightmare fuel when under the influence but we put a brave face on. This being my first Elrow I was a bit disappointed with the music. However, Alan Fitzpatrick played a fantastic set and 'We Do What We Want' popped off. Great production and atmosphere but mediocre music.
Elrow 8/10
DC10 was a similar story. We arrived at about 1:30 and it was the busiest I've ever seen the place. The music was great though. Jamie Jones set was a bit dull but the rest of the music was great. I noticed that the security was extra tight this year compared to previous visits. A lot of the security were darting through the dance floor which is a bit scary when you have your pinky in a bag .
Paradise 8/10
Abode @ Sankeys was a fun night considering I'm not a huge fan of the music. The place was busy but not too bad. Plenty of room to dance in the lab but a bit tighter in the basement. A good crack if you want a dark and dingy clubbing experience.
Sankeys 7/10
Cocoon was great and was the night I was most excited for. Papa Svens set was decent but nothing mind blowing. The place was adequately busy and good vibes on the terrace. my friends couldn't hack it after 3 heavy nights on the trot so we reluctantly left around 5 am.
Cocoon 7/10
Worst night: Together @ Amnesia. Its a bit unfair calling this the worst night as we actually enjoyed ourselves. We managed to wrangle free tickets from friends who decided to go to resistance instead. We would have done resistance too but free tickets are free tickets! The music was ok if you are into d'n'b and commercial house. The guests were all in good spirits and there was a pleasant vibe in the smoking area.
Together 6/10
Best bar: Didn't really visit many bars but the one opposite Sankeys was fairly decent. We spent some time at a little cafe/bar at Aquarium Cap Blanc after we went cliff diving which was really nice.
Best place to eat: Cafe Mambos breakfast nursed us back to full hp most mornings and is fairly well priced. We didn't really eat out much in the evening but the one night we did we ate at golden Buddha in San Antonio. Decent food but nothing special.
Money spent: 1250 euros
Biggest regret: Missing game over at benimussa and resistance at privilege thanks to being kicked out of our apartment.
Going back?: For sure.
Top tip: Be very careful not to leave your phone in taxis haha. Also be careful with the Audi bars and pink monkeys (hear no). Both had a long delay (Approx 1hr 30) and were in our experience quite strong.
Rather than "proper" house musicthey´ve got the same energy and dedication for partying, but AFAIK fusion does like a good dose of techno every now and then!

Yeah, I think its just a few bad eggs. We didn't bother arguing with the police and just shuffled out without making a scene. A strange thing happened just after we left actually. We were sat at cdm having a drink and sorting out where we were sleeping for the night when a glass bottle fell from up where our apartment was and narrowly missed a young lady. Everyone looked up to see where it came from and the only apartment with a light on was ours... Also on the very same night we were walking back down the seafront to catch a taxi near mambos where we could make out a couple of figures on our balcony smoking and drinking! We are all a bit miffed to be honest.
I'll bet that someone with a key is using the apartment illicitly for prostitution, probably someone connected to the management of the place, and people like you "in the way" are bad for business. This sort of thing happens a lot in Portugal unfortunately. I'd definitely tell anyone else to swerve the place in future. Clearly shady people up to shady shenanigans in there.
Its a Strange one.. only in ibiza..Hope the lovely English people gave you a refund...
Worst night: Musically, Elrow as that's not really my cup of tea but had to keep the group happy. It had its moments but I think Elrow is fun to visit only once. Glad we got VIP balcony tickets as it gave us a chance to have a breather from the crowds and easy access to bars and toilets
amazes me how people go to Ibiza and on this tell it how it was , they say they didnt go to a bar
my days of paying 70euros to hear someone play someone elses records is over. Bars all the way
Not really i met nice German & australian girls and they were not 20's and enjoyed the partyi think that elrow for the younger crowd.
went once, and dont think will do it again.
You are amazed that someone goes to the mecca of house music and goes to the top clubs there?
I can appreciate the cost argument but I can sit and drink in the UK and listen to music. What I am paying for is hearing the top djs, in one of the best clubs in the world, full of like minded people.
On top of that alcohol is not really my thing in clubs - it slows me down and would drastically increase the cost of my night out in Ibiza.
However, I agree that I'd generally not pay more than about €50 for a ticket (Cocoon was €40, Suara was €25). As I've said elsewhere on this forum, those prices are more or less the same I have paid for the last 23 years.
Paying €80 for S+1 was damage limitation and Elrow VIP balcony was a one-off to keep everyone in the group happy.
Time for u to find a location in north of ibz and think about fishing? napping knitting, raise some goats chickens?
that dixon/cocoon night bonzo described sounded really good. I'd be there like a shot if it changed venue to say Underground, but wild horses wouldn't drag me to a massive, overpriced club. real shame really, but have firm principles on this.
