Dates you were there: Aug 6th-10th

Vlog coming soon :)

Where you stayed (resort/hotel): Hotel Orosol, San Antonio

Was actually really chuffed with this hotel, especially after staying at Ibiza Rocks last year and getting ZERO sleep. When I checked in they told me to report any noise as they were a quiet hotel. The room was great, and even though I didn't eat breakfast - it looked decent enough (the coffee was fab!). Close enough to everything, especially the bus station, and no trouble whatsoever.

Club nights visited:
Sun - Cuckoo Land @ Rocks, Radio 1 @ Mambo & Defected @ Eden
Mon - Mercury Rising @ Pikes
Tuesday - Elrow @ Rocks
Wednesday - Nothing :spank:

A bit of an explanation to begin. I had booked to come to Ibiza on my own to deal with some Wedding suppliers and a venue meeting ready for next year, so I added on a couple of days either side because, why not?! My bridesmaid then decided that she'd like to come out for the Mon-Weds to 'help' with the meetings and as she was the original Ibiza worker in our group I thought it would be good fun to have some company outside the people I knew already working at Rocks.

Turns out she doesn't like to party any more so the nights that should have been the best (Pikes & Elrow) were simply the worst ones due to the fact I had to ask her every half hour or so if she was OK because she looked like she wanted to leave

Best night: I had the most fun on the Sunday with a worker friend of mine, but Elrow was absolutely incredible at Ibiza Rocks. The set up, the stages, the shows, the music and the fun was just amaxing. Definitely put the normal Rocks parties to shame. We got there just after it opened at 12, and as it was free before 2pm for workers, that was when it filled up. It was wall to wall the whole time, and the first confetti explosion and inflatable throw at 4:30pm was well worth the wait. We got right down to the front to watch the carnival band and I had loads of fun. Unfortunately, no matter what I did/drank - my friend was bringing me downnnnn - so we ended up leaving at 5:30-6pm. Apparently it was still wall to wall at 10pm from the videos I saw! A great day party!

Worst night: Wednesday. I had wedding meetings during the day, and then thought we could go out somewhere that night but the friend was a Debbie-Downer on that one.

Pikes could have been absolutely amazing night, but we left at 2 as friend was tired. I love the refurb of Freddie's, and the night was nice and busy, everyone loving the music!

Best bar: Golden Buddha for a nice big Gin (service was actually ok late afternoon on Thursday) or Ibiza Rocks Bar of course

Best place to eat: Tapas in San An! Ended up there twice, once on the set menu which was laaaavly and once just with my friend so we ordered a few different bits. Always great food and atmosphere there!

Money spent: Too much probably but oh well.

Biggest regret: Saying yes to friend coming

Going back?: Not until next year for the wedding :)

Top tip: If you're worried about things being stolen from hotel safes, then lock all of your valuables in your suitcase with your case lock. Never had an issue and always done it that way.

Also got my newest tattoo addition out there, always used Filippo at Ibiza Ink

Vlog coming soon so keep watch!

 ... didn't realize you were saddled with a gooseberry, thought you were out with your other half for some reason ! By the sounds of it you wouldn't have been able to shake her off for a night anyway though  !

Best bar: Golden Buddha for a nice big Gin (service was actually ok late afternoon on Thursday)

Found service in there much better this year tbh ... even late night didn't have to wait half an hour for a drink as used to be the case sometimes !

Just a note of caution on that one I somehow managed to reset the combination on my case lock last year between landing at about 9am, going kayaking with the case locked in the car boot and checking in. And of course could't open the sodding thing to access my passport etc to check in at the hotel afterwards. It took the Abrat barman precisely 3 seconds to break open a TSA travel padlock with a small pair of hand pliers. Guess what I'm saying is that unless stuff is in the hotel safe your travel insurance is null and void and unfortunately especially in PDB there have been a lot of cases of stuff being robbed out of hotel rooms. If you're staying somewhere 'safe' I agree with you and actually lock my laptop in the case because it never fits in the safe. But as for money, passport etc. after that little incident brought it home to me just how useless a suitcase padlock really is I've always used the safe since whenever I can.

Dates you were there:

9th - 15th August

Where you stayed (resort/hotel):

Hotel Garbi - Bossa - step-up in luxury to where we had stayed before, nice quiet hotel, great spa to relax the hangover, but in some ways it felt a bit too luxurious for an Ibiza and in general didn't enjoy Bossa as much as I have done previous trips to San An.

Club nights visited:

Armin Van Buuren - Hi Ibiza

Arrived late due to a late flight, meant less pre-drinking time and in the middle of a storm so got soaked even walking the short distance there. Solid set from Armin with a mixture of trance and more poppier EDM, and a mix of new and old tracks. Hi lacks the atmosphere of Space, but at the same time if you are a treating it as a new nightclub it is impressive and I didn't find the VIP elements overbearing like some had suggested.

Fatboy Slim - Amnesia

Again another solid set, but not the busiest Cream night I have been to. Atmosphere was still decent however.

Disclosure - DC10

Our first visit to DC10 and it was so busy that you couldn't get anywhere near the action, hundreds of people just sat outside on the floor near the bars looking a bit bored as a result. Felt under-whelmed as expected this to be the holiday highlight and we left early feeling like we left having barely heard any of Disclosure's set.

Bob Sinclar - Pacha

Surprisingly the best night of the week. Never taken that much interest in Bob's music, and his night isn't that hyped up compared to some others on the island, but he absolutely delivered with a cracking upbeat/funky house set, with classics and some of his newer material. Pacha was also busy, but not so rammed that you couldn't move. An unexpected Gem.

Kygo - Ushuaia

Will start of by saying Tropical House isn't my genre, so Kygo always had an uphill battle with me. But went along anyway as wanted a more chilled night and was intrigued by how this style of music would feel in the sunny, outdoor setting of Ushuaia. Unfortunately it felt like an arena gig you could have seen anywhere in the world, very young (mostly Scandinavian) audience just swaying to the music and taking selfies, and not even singing along much. Wasn't expecting a mosh-pit, but it felt flat and Kygo relied on a lot of older EDM tunes from other artists, and some cheesy songs like 'Don't stop believing' to try and rouse the crowd. Production was however the best i've seen in Ibiza, with the whole stage turned in to a Jungle with LED video screens becoming a waterfall etc

Best night:

Bob Sinclar - Pacha - reasons above

Worst night:

Tough call between Disclosure at DC10 for just being too busy to even see the show, or Kygo at Ushuaia for (as above) just not feeling like an Ibiza gig.

Best bar:

The Rock - Ibiza Town our first visit to Ibiza Town for a few years, and was refreshing to have firstly drinks near Dalt Vita in bars with less hassle and reasonable drinks prices, instead of the constant interruptions from shot-girls, lucky-lucky men & ticket sellers in Bossa. Rock Bar was the pick of a good run of bars that night due to friendly service.

Best place to eat:

Justo Enfrente - Bossa, on the pricier side, but a fantastic steak fresh off the bbq with a selection of herbs and seasonings on the table you could add yourself and very friendly service.

Money spent:

Including hotel, drinks, tickets and everything: £1600-1700

Biggest regret:

Staying in Bossa. Previously only stayed in San An and only had trips to Bossa before. Found the resort pricier, with lots of ticket sellers being a hassle on the beach and on the main strip. Missed the variety in San An more than I thought (i.e. Westend is wild and cheap, but the Sunset Strip, the strip near Orange Corner and the Bay offer a different kind of night) Bossa wasn't awful by any means though, and still far better than most resorts in the Med.

Going back?:

Yes, but probably taking a year off to make it feel more special again.

Oh my lock isn't one of those piddly ones. It's at least 4x the size lol - I swear it adds half a kg to my weight limit!!!

Your padlock is irrelevant, the pen opens the zip anywhere on the case they want. If someone wants to get in your case, they can without leaving any damage to prove they have. Even cases with a combination zip lock and cases without zips and just combinations are easily opened with a simple technique.

Fair enough.

Nevertheless, never had anything stolen from me in Ibiza so all in all its just a matter of using some common sense and not leaving your stuff everywhere - which was actually quite a change for me because in Dubai I could literally leave all of my stuff (handbag/phone/laptop) on a table in a bar and leave to go somewhere/toilet/shop next door and come back and it'll all still be there. Almost made that error when on holiday but quickly tried to get out of the habit lol!

I am not knocking you, i actually put valuables in my case and lock it up too. I just try to hide them in my case so theyre not on view. Never had anything stolen touch wood.
Its just sobering how easy it is for any tom, dick or harry to access your belongings if they want to.
