RESISTANCE IBIZA [Sasha & Digweed] @ Privilege 2017

Was going to go to that as I'm a big fan of Voorn too but I get sooo frustrated with the poor sound I decided against it. Guess the B2B wasnt any good then?

A big group of friends went to see S&D at Priv on the 15th and they were disappointed with their set that night.
100% right about the sound at SW4....just not loud enough. Good production but it's been like this for years with the sound...has improved slightly since the mid-2000's, but not enough. Best set I heard was Solumun probably....has tempted me into going to Pacha next week rather than S&D at Privilege...

just spoke to the promoters and their verdict was it was the best one so far.

numbers up by a lot (hi was closed keep in mind) and by all accounts a really good vibe

Sets it up well for next week then I hope! Stronger line up too, early September usually a more mature crowd who will appeal to S+D.

I was there last night and got to say it was a really good gig, nice atmosphere, busy on the dance floor with remove to move. Been my best gig so far out Elrow (shite) and DC10.

Out of interest why? Are there some people still expecting a progressive mid 90s sound? Diggers can slam down a heavy Techno set these days. While I'm not going until next week, I'm guessing the S&D sets are pretty close to Diggers current sound...

Building into pretty dark and driving and quite intense if their set at Social is anything to go by. Sasha does tend to lighten Diggers' mood up a bit but Digweed has been very techno-tinged for a long time now. Most likely not really sets to wander in and out of ?

this is a little off-topic now, but still has to do with resistance so, with your permission...

I´ve just had a look around at ticket sales, not just for resistance but generally for next week´s parties, and it seems the first week of september might turn into a pretty busy one. as for resistance on 5th september I really think this one will get busy. don´t imagine a packed-out privilege, but certainly lots busier than those mid-august hangers which shouldn´t have been hangers. it´s interesting though, even cocoon with dixon on 21st august (normally a super peak date) wasn´t as busy as expected.

as mentioned elsewhere already, it was a very odd august this year - the island just never got to boiling point. but as also mentioned previously, september could turn into a really good month. we shall see. I for one can´t wait for september to start!

Well I arrive next Monday Morning! I mean what more can I say?

Though if I take my usual group, pretty much all of us left it to September / October this year. We all used to moan about August, but still did a cheeky weekend. This year I don't know a single person who went in August.

I've got 2 or 3 trips from now until mid October. It's like my season is just beginning. Can't fu*cking wait.....

Sweet, glad you said this stivi!! My excitement for Resistance started to dwindle a bit after reading the comments on the august dates, but I am well up for Tuesday now. :)

Do you agree most would consider this to be a pretty good thing (except for maybe promoters)? I've only ever been once in August and it was the very end of the month so i didn't find it unbearable, but it seems a party like the aforementioned Cocoon with Dixon not being packed like sardines is pretty nice for those in attendance.

ah yeah - I just had a convo with some island folk and pretty much everyone said it was a pretty comfy august for once. normally it really is the month we all hate because it´s too busy everywhere, and it was still the busiest month of the year this summer too, but just not to the point of how annoying it normally gets.

as for the promoters...they obviously all calculate with having the clubs very full in august so yeah for most of them it wasn´t a fantastic month

It's not that great for the people that need august to be busy to survive . Half empty clubs half empty Sunbeds and empty Restutants mean 1 thing , the workers go home and some dont come back ,

This August has been shite numbers wise , fingers crossed the establishments up there game and lower there prices so the tourists come back .

Do you think this could be the first August where the numbers were affected by the younger lot going to places like Croatia??

I wonder this too and about Croatia in general but someone mentioned here how Croatia wasn't exactly doing that much better than it usually does either.

exactly, croatia (the festivals) are apparently also down a bit generally (with exceptions I'm sure)
