If the competition is between one rock/hiphop/pop/celeb (or jazz, classical, comedian, theatre whatever) playing live and electronic djs elsewhere aren't they pitching at different audiences though? Feels to me there is a gap in the market.
are you not contradicting yourself a little here? your point was around acts adding a date in Ibiza to an already scheduled tour. If thats the case then why would 'dedicated fans fly in' when they can see these acts closer to home?Maybe i’m being naive but I still don’t get why ibiza has to be different though. Eg Sardinia for instance gets thousands of drum n bass fans over every year for Sun n Bass, and Gran Canaria gets a massive gay crowd for their outdoor galas. I think you can offer one-offs dedicated fans will fly in for. Maybe the venues get cold feet because they‘re risk averse?
