London riots

If they really want to make a statement they should not burn their neighborhoods but go to the banks and upper class areas to get the point across.

There's a far smaller rich-poor divide in Britain than most of the rest of the world. Burning anything least of all Mayfair is not going to solve anything - most of the rich parts of London are owned by foreigners and overpaid entertainers/sportsmen anyway, not bankers or "upper classes".

The ignorance of some of Britain's youth never ceases to amaze me .. "We're just showing the rich people and the people with businesses we can do what we want". If that is what you want to do, then yes - ship them all off to an island where they can do what they want to each other.

So, when you've burned down all the shops and looted all the free booze where will there be left for you "to do what you want" in ?

So unbelievably stupid. This is the education my hard earned tax is giving other peoples' children ? Give me a break.

No no no.

Greed is personal. If you're greedy and materialistic, you need to have a word with yourself!

I am far from rich, but I send a lot of time around people who are much better off than I am. They've got cool toys, some of which I'd like to have. But I've never spent a second looking for someone to blame for me not having them.

I think that's the problem. I've never been against capitalism, nor do I decry the difference between rich and poor (although I do support helping the poorest where appropriate). I don't think it's a bad thing that we have access to material things. I love gadgets.

But I do decry an attitude that just because things exist, we should have them, whether we worked for them or not. That's an individual problem, not a societal one.

I completely agree - surely with some of these though its their upbringing 7 the way their parents behave? I was saying this just now at work - if your parents are like the sorts you get on Jeremy Kyle then arent you just going to be the same? (Sorry if someone has already mentioned this I didnt have time to read 5 pages)

How much has that just angered me

I should not have commented on this thread without having seen more of the footage of what is actually happening. We are on holiday in Ireland and have seen snippets from the news. Seeing this clip made me feel sick, that is f*cked up. I will refrain from editing my previous posts but this has made me realise what is actually happening here and a lot of my previous postings can be disregarded.

In other Countries the Military would be helping the Police Patrol the Streets during such violent unrest's whilst also maintaining Law & Order from such mindless lowest of the low Vermin. But oh no not Britain for whilst the World look's on these mindless vermin are making the UK a laughing stock. Cameron say's that if they are older enough for doing the crime then they're old enough for paying for it if caught.

Well let's see what punishment is given to these SCUM and i hope it's not a freebie holiday to Ibiza including a free entrance to one it's top dance club's but instead they should be sent out to Afghanistan to help fight alongside the British Army. Then we'll see just how tough & hard such thug's are or as the case maybe not given they'll probably bawl there eyes out begging for mercy not to be sent their.

When the NI Troubles took place back in the 70/80's it was the army who quelled any violence back then, so why aren't they being deployed now on the Street's of Britain. Oh i forgot? It's because they're out fighting someone else's War.

I'm not even sure you can blame the parents or

I see your point that ultimately it comes to the individual, but the greatest influence on these are their parents so I think indirectly they are partly responsible. As for the 13 - 15 year olds getting involved then its most definitely their parents fault.

Jesus if I was ever involved in that sort of trouble at that age don't think my life wouldve been worth living

I've no-doubt the majority will be against my statement but it's now time not for voting on bringing back the Death Penalty but infact for reintroducing
