Ibiza Rocks @ IBIZA ROCKS HOTEL 2010

Ibiza Gets Rocked Bunny Girl Style

Last night a little bit of LA came to Ibiza, the bunny girls were in town and boy did they throw the Ibiza Rocks Hotel a memorable party.

The first ever 'Playboy Presents Ibiza Rocks The Rabbit' was one hell of a night with our favourite pin ups being joined by a bumper bill topped by Ibiza Rocks legends Soulwax.

With an A-list crowd in attendance, including F1 star Eddie Irvine and Tinchy Stryder, it was up to Silver Columns to get the party started with their hotly tipped synth-pop smashes.

By the time Soulwax took the stage the atmosphere was electric, the Belgian band's set featuring their own tracks interspersed with other favourites, all played live to the backing of 4 giant LED screens creating a superb visual spectacle.

The finale saw the band joined on-stage by twelve Playboy Bunny Girls who led the crowd to a Macarena-style dance-routine.

At the Es Paradis After Show, Soulwax continued the party in true rock-star fashion as revellers danced on tables, strutting their stuff to DJ Colin Peters and the infamous Propaganda DJs who were showcasing their leading UK indie-night.

Next week we're into July and high season! The island will be full and we'll be joined by Calvin Harris and Example, alongwith newcomers Diagram of the Heart. The legendary nights just keep on coming...

Calvin Harris Rocks The Record Books!

High season is truly upon us! Over the past two days Mallorca Rocks and Ibiza Rocks chalked up record attendances as the Balearics were left bouncing to the beat of Calvin Harris for a full 48 hours!

Back-to-back headline performances from the Scottish floor-filler sent crowds on both islands into a frenzy, with bangers such as ‘Acceptable in the 80s' and ‘Not Alone' getting huge receptions.

In Mallorca, Tinie Tempah provided the support and was in blistering form as day turned to night at the Hotel - the likes of ‘Pass Out' and ‘Frisky' getting the crowd ready for what was to come

On the White Isle, proceedings were kicked off by Example and newcomers Diagram of the Heart - both of whom drew huge crowds and had them raising the roof on what was an incredible night.

By the time Mr Harris left the stage in Ibiza all hands were raised skywards, the band were clearly buzzing from the crowd's reaction and looking jubilant with the success after rocking the Med for two days straight.

Down at the After Show in Es Paradis, Example & DJ Wire played once again to a packed-out club, exhausting their audience with some classic tunes before Doorly stole the show with a customarily raucous display.

As usual there was a euphoric atmosphere as Calvin Harris mixed with fans and the festival mood continued as party-goers crowdsurfed around the club.

Next week, the guitars return with Maximo Park and Everything Everything...

In 2005, when they were music stars in the making Maximo Park and Ibiza Rocks took a chance on each other and magic was made.

That show was the very first Ibiza Rocks. It was a ‘moment' that was to change the island's music scene forever and now five years on Maximo finally return (Having scored number 1 albums, festival headlines and all that), for what is sure to be the most emotional and celebratory set of the season next Tuesday 13th July.

They'll be joined by one of the UK's most hotly tipped new bands, Manchester's Everything Everything - a band a lot of our office can't wait to see. DJ support will come from Radio 1's DJ Kissy Sellout.

Its a proper line-up. If you've ever wondered what Ibiza Rocks is all about then come to this show. Its where it all started.

Maximo Park Set For Glorious Ibiza Rocks Comeback

The mighty Maximo Park are making a glorious return to the White Isle tonight, five years after playing the very first Ibiza Rocks gig!

Maximo's energetic 2005 debut went down in Ibiza Rocks folklore and the Geordie indie favourites are guaranteed to whip the crowd into a frenzy.

Now with three chart-denting albums up their sleeves, the scissor-kicking spectacle promises to be one of the highlights of the Ibiza Rocks summer season.

Joining Maximo on the night are Manchester's newest prodigal sons and Ibiza Rocks virgins, Everything Everything, who will be showcasing material from their eagerly-anticipated debut album ‘Man Alive'.

As if that wasn't enough, Radio 1 DJ Kissy Sell Out will be manning the decks between the bands playing his trademark uplifting electro.

It's gonna be quite a night!

Maximo Park Roll Back The Years

Five years ago they helped launch our adventure in Ibiza and last night Maximo Park returned to a heroes welcome.

Armed with new material and old classics it was a night to savour for the boys from the North East and the heaving Ibiza Rocks Hotel audience.

The night begun with a debut set from Manchester's Everything Everything who drew tracks from their soon-to-be released debut album 'Man Alive' to provide an awesome opening to the night.

The reigns were then handed over to DJ Kissy Sellout who had the capacity crowd off their heads with his electro beats and mixing wizardry.

It was then time for Maximo to make the stage their own half a decade after christening it and they didn't disappoint giving us a taste of what is to come from their next album plus throwing in indie anthems such as 'Apply Some Pressure'.

It was raucous and rowdy as security battled the constant flow of crowd surfers hoping to make it onstage

From the hotel it was then on to Es Paradis for the After Show party, free entry for all those with gig tickets of course, where Kissy rocked his second set of the night and as you'd expect completely killed it.

Next week it's the big birthday party celebrating 5 years of Ibiza Rocks with The Prodigy, South Central and Rob Da Bank.

The Prodigy Set To Storm Ibiza Rocks' 5th Birthday

To celebrate our fifth storming year on the White Isle, we're proud to have drafted in one of the biggest and most influential dance acts of all time to mark the occasion; The Prodigy.

Keith, Liam and Maxim will unleash their spitting big beat/rock onslaught on Ibiza Rocks on Tuesday night at our colossal fifth birthday party.

With hits like 'Firestarter', 'Voodoo People', 'Omen' and 'Breathe' in their arsenal, it's sure to be a legendary night.

There are still some remaining combo tickets for The Prodigy gig on Tuesday and Reclaim The Dancefloor with Annie Mac on Wednesday from the Ibiza Rocks ticket page
here. Be quick!

LCD Soundsystem To Play Unique Ibiza Rocks Show!

Earlier this year LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy made the surprise announcement that their brilliant third album, 'This Is Happening', will be their very last in their current incarnation.

With only a handful of shows on the horizon, LCD Soundsystem's performance at Ibiza Rocks on August 17 could be your final chance to see them live and in the flesh!

Fresh from playing a string of festival dates around the globe, LCD will be well primed for their Ibiza Rocks Hotel show and we're beyond excited to have them on the White Isle.

As a taster for the show,
