more to come.....

Biffy clyro hit the pool at ibiza rocks

It was then over to the White Isle on Tuesday for Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro making their Ibiza Rocks debut and Bombay Bicycle Club who made the short trip across the Med.

The boys from North London hit the stage first and put in their second storming set of the week, we're sure they'll be back again after becoming such crowd favourites this year.

Biffy then took over to headline the opening party and they didn't disappoint, hitting us with their trademark riffage and a host of hits from their back catalogue. They finished up with a bit of guitar smashing before bombing into the pool to cool off.

After a quick drink at the Ibiza Rocks Bar the opening night closed at Es Paradis for the first of the summer's After Parties that will run every week until September - it was a great end to an amazing few days.

Don't forget that you can get in to the After Party free before 2am with your gig wristband. There will be amazing line ups every week with residents Doorly, Colin Peters, Nicola Bear & Grainger joined by the likes of Kissy Sell Out, Rob da Bank & more for Indie, Mash Up and re-edits.

Next week sees King Monkey himself, Ian Brown, heading to the island for his debut show for what is sure to be another legendary night. Detroit Social Club and the Union DJs will be joining him to support - don't miss it!

Previously, at Ibiza Rocks - Ian Brown and Detroit Social Club

Last night (Tuesday June 15) saw a true giant gracing the Ibiza Rocks stage; Voice of a generation Ian Brown headlined a night of glorious mayhem.

The rain was pouring down as the crowds gathers, but the Ibizan Sun Gods blessed the show with glorious sunshine (even if they did resume the downpour almost immediately after the last note was played)

First up was Detroit Social Club to warm things up which they did with furious panache and by the time Ian Brown sent the opening strains of 'I Wanna Be Adored' ringing out across the pool things were already steaming up.

A titanic 75 minute set followed, with Brown's own material easily keeping pace with the Stone Roses classics. Both 'Golden Gaze' and a trumpet-tinged 'Time Is Everything' were well deserved highlights and had the sweat hitting the sand.

A cloud-raising encore of 'Fools Gold' put the seal on it.

Tonight a legend came to Ibiza.

The Courteeners Triumph At Ibiza Rocks

What a night, what a gig! The summer is really warming up now and it was on scorching form last night at the Ibiza Rocks hotel.

The Courteeners, Goldhawks, Toddla T and the Reverend Soundsystem were all in peak condition - bringing out the big tunes all night long.

London based newcomers Goldhawks kicked off proceedings - their Americana tinged indie-rock has been ripping up venues across the UK and they didn't disappoint on the White Isle with a cracking set of fresh and exciting material.

DJ Toddla T then took to the decks, dropping a bit of 'World In Motion' into the mix ahead of the big match today and prepping the crowd for the huge finale to come.

For the second week running Manchester provided the headlining act and The Courteeners were just as legendary as their predecessor Ian Brown.

1500 revellers were in the palm of their hands - bouncing, arms aloft to 'Not 19 Forever' for a truly epic closing to an epic night.

But that wasn't the end, before the crowds dispersed The Reverend John McClure had grabbed the mic to rally the troops to get down to the Aftershow at Es Paradis.

This is where it got messy - McClure in the crowd, The Courteeners singing Pulp's 'Disco 2000' karaoke style and then on to the Reverend Soundsystem who ripped it up while unveiling their new direction with a typically rousing and partisan performance of old favourites and brand new indie-dance bangers.

Resident DJ, Doorly, was also on hand with yet another floor-filling set - don't forget that he mixed the new 'Ibiza Rocks presents Reclaim the Dancefloor' compilation which is out on Monday, pre-order your copy

PLAYBOY PRESENTS: ‘IBIZA ROCKS THE RABBIT with SOULWAX'

Soulwax, Silver Columns and Propaganda DJs this Tuesday 29th June at IBIZA ROCKS, in the first collaboration with the legendary brand PLAYBOY and their ‘Rock the Rabbit' enterprise

IBIZA ROCKS, the name famous for bringing live music back to the island of dance, has never been one to shy away from a great idea. Their first collaboration with the internationally known PLAYBOY brand is being regarded as just one fine example of the very same. This Tuesday 29th June sees Playboy's ‘Rock the Rabbit' enterprise bounce into San Antonio for their initiation to the Ibiza Rocks Hotel and sees both promoters jointly present the Belgian duo, SOULWAX as headliners on the Ibiza Rocks stage.

Playboy's legendary Rock the Rabbit program, which fuses music, fashion and design, is hopping across the Atlantic pond this summer to partner with Ibiza Rocks with the aim of showcasing the ultimate Playboy experience. The partnership – Playboy Presents Ibiza Rocks the Rabbit – will include Playboy pop-up shops, drop-dead gorgeous Ibiza Rocks Chicks dressed as the world-famous and iconic Playboy Bunnies, and even an onsite Playboy fashion photo shoot, with world famous photographer Tony Kelly, the fruits of which will appear in an upcoming issue of the PlayBoy magazine.

‘With an all-star concert lineup that includes LCD Soundsystem, Chase & Status, Dizzee Rascal and The Kooks, there's no question that Ibiza Rocks is the place to be this summer,” said Lorna Donohoe, vice president, worldwide retail sales and marketing, licensing, Playboy Enterprises, Inc. “Playboy is thrilled to be part of the Ibiza Rocks experience. We look forward to bringing great concerts – including Soulwax on June 29 – as well as cool products and Playboy fun to Ibiza this summer!”

Launched in 2007, Playboy's Rock the Rabbit program invites high-profile musicians and bands to appear in an annual fashion pictorial in the magazine, and design t-shirts which incorporate their interpretation of the Playboy Rabbit Head. Notable Rock the Rabbit musicians include Soulwax and The Kooks, both of whom are performing at Ibiza Rocks this summer, as well as Duran Duran, MGMT, The Flaming Lips, Möley Crüe, Lil' Jon and Snoop Dogg.

Providing the soundtrack, SOULWAX bring their special touch of Belgian elegance back to the Ibiza Rocks stage. Also known as 2ManyDJs and famous for remixes including ‘Daft Punk Is Playing At My House' (LCD Soundsystem), Daft Punk ‘s ‘Robot Rock (song)' or Gorillaz ‘DARE' de Gorillaz, they are no strangers to Ibiza Rock and, some might even say, are part of its progression and family over the last 5 years.

They'll be preceded on stage by SILVER COLUMNS, a charming little discovery of the Ibiza Rocks booker. Hailing from Scotland, Adem Ilhan and Johnny Lynch have recently burst onto the UK music scene with their first electonic pop album, which, according to critics, has a touch of the Hot Chip about it.

On the decks, it's a welcome back to Ibiza Rocks for Propaganda DJS as well as Ibiza Rocks Residents Doorly, Nicola Bear and Tart with a Heart.
