Ibiza 2022 impressions

Could be a choice of a week in Ibiza or two somewhere else. Ibiza wins...for now. What happens if, say, the Costas open Ibiza style clubs? Torremolinos and Sitges have gay scene every bit as good as Ibiza (better??), and for fossils like me who love quiet, Menorca fills most of the boxes.

Some of Ibiza's most famous nightlife was originally based on Sitges, which was where Pacha began way back in the 60s/70s. Aesthetically I find bits of Sitges are v similar to D'Alt Villa. But nowadays, there isn't much left musicwise as the club crowd got older. There aren't any amazing clubs left now tbh anywhere. Platja D'Aro on the Costa Brava (near where I have an apartment) was amazing for a while (all the cool people went to Tiffany's Maddox etc) but the authorities killed it in the 90s and now weeds growing on the old sites. So the one-offs and festies moved in to fill the void. That's why nobody I know really goes out anymore and saves themselves for the summer. If you really want to do Spain on the cheap you have to go inland and go north. the campsites I stayed at a few weeks back were ridiculously cheap, 10-20€ a night and for me personally the north coast (esp the Basque area) is much more alternative musicwise.

Things move on. If the Americans want to flood Ibiza then maybe it's time for us too move on? Was supposed to be Russians coming here this season (ahem).

I don't do clubs so places without suit me fine, but for those that do I'm sure there are viable alternatives, with beach, with heat!

Corfu? Cyprus? The other Greek islands?

Anyhow, if the dollar falls and they don't come over, who will fill the rooms at the prices they are gonna charge?

Meanwhile here on Formy we had a torrential one this morning, looked set for all day, but now the sun's out, hot and perfect for that late afternoon dip!

Probably the same storm hit Ibiza?

came back this night after 5 days on the island. I've been 13 times in total since 2008 (once a year, excluding 2020 and 2021).
Well, as always a fantastic holiday. I think the island is busier compared to the previous years I've been for the closings, in particular the beaches. Parties were good as always. Eivissa town pretty empty around 11 pm, but still very enjoyable to have a walk in the port. Playa d'en bossa completely empty. Cala tarida lovely as always, looking forward to next year!
Dutches everywhere!!!

It refers to Spain in general, not specifically to Ibiza.

Friend enjoyed the comedy night at Pikes last week. Sure it's been mentioned on here previously but I wasn't aware of it. Something to consider next time my wife and I visit for a longer period

In mid-July Ibiza Town got empty also by Midnight. Gone are the times when there was a nice Buzz also during the night Time..

well you can't really compare the current times to 15 years ago (or more) when there weren't so many events happening in the evening hours such as ushuaïa, destino, cova santa, ibiza rocks etc...

in august the port still gets very busy, but it's of course not comparable to 20 years ago when all these afternoon into night parties didn't exist yet here
