Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

So, Matt’s journey from STN to Ibiza with Ryanair

Went to the airport 4 hours early as he had purchased a rapid PCR which is done there (results in 3 hours or less). Thinking that he would need to get checked to get through security, he waited a while until he got bored and thought he’d wing it anyways.

Because he had no luggage, he waltzed through security and bag check with no checking of testing or passenger form.

Queuing to board - the Ryanair staff asked him if he had a negative test and he showed them the Randox day 2 results (which we were explicitly told he wouldn’t be able to be use to board - exactly why we spent £95 for the airport one)

Spanish health form checked thoroughly this side.
No one asked for or checked anything going out for me, are they meant to? Coming in they did!

We are thinking of waiting to see what the UK government says at the next travel review (26th August I think), and if Spain is still amber or better still, green, we might come after all.

It is making me sick to see that I can do 5 nights in a really nice all inclusive hotel (with kids club!), for less than the price of a caravan in the isle of Wight. Starting to think it is worth the risk...seeing you antigen tests are 30euros each is good news...

Do you need to do anything at all on the way out there? Or is it still just present evidence of vaccination to enter Spain?

I've just got back from a family holiday in a different European country (also amber) and it was so worth it. Yes it's a bit of a faff doing / paying for the tests and sorting the paperwork, but after 18 months of not being able to go anywhere, a few hours admin is totally worth the trouble.

Incidentally, passport control coming in the UK told us that now when they scan your passport, your PLF info (including day 2 test booking and negative return test) comes up on screen.

quick question ive ordered 2 antigen tests for me and my brother to fly back to the uk £30 a pop.
were fully vaccinated.these day 2 tests are these the antigen ones as well and do the same thing.
just asking and great forum people.

Use code Test21 to get them a bit cheaper. Also some of the reviews are terrible and maybe we were lucky, but everything was really smooth and on time.

Just looking at that link, says you need to do a PCR on departure from the Uk? I thought you just had to show you'd been vaccinated to enter Spain? Confusing.

My understanding for amber was PCR or Antigen before leaving Ibiza, and day 2 of arriving home? So 2 tests in total.

Yes, if you're vaccinated you just need proof of that to get into Spain.
No vaccinated - you need to do a PCR to get into Spain.

In the scheme of things if you're fully vaccinated and you simply have to take a £29 'fit to fly' test via C9 on the return leg and a Day 2 test upon arrival home via Randox for £43 - is that truly the end of the world!? It's £72 all said and done for testing. I know we would all rather pay nothing but I actually don't think that's horrifically offensive.

It's personally making me strongly consider a quick 2/3 night dash across over the next few weeks after the school holidays and before my originally scheduled end of October trip. I just need to check I can get a table booked at La Bodega and we might be cooking on gas! 😏 🤣

You know what i read the randox website and it all seemed a bit complicated for me.i think the rout ill go for day 2 test..is try and get booked in somewhere in sheldon birmingham by me if possible.but thanks for the info anyway.
ive just found a link for birmingham airport drive through testing £69 quid a pop,ill use that because im a dum dum and this sounds a shure thing.

Doing it yourself and getting the registering/packing it right is a bit of a hassle first time you do it. Next time is a doddle

My UK plans for this weekend in London have been cancelled due to friends catching covid 😔. Seriously tempted to get an early flight tomorrow, late flight Monday and enjoy 3 nights. Is it doable?

Am I correct in thinking:
Entry into Ibiza, just a health form as I'm fully vaccinated? Show proof on app.

Entry back into the UK, test on the island Sat/Sun which are easily accessible.
Another health form.
Test in the UK 2 days after getting back. Does this need booking in advance?

If negative UK test, no quarantine?

Thanks in advance ☺

You need the order/test code to input into your Passenger Locator Form for the UK, so yeah - prebook the day 2.

I believe everything else is correct :)

Doooooooooooo it.

Your assumptions are correct, but the day 2 test needs to be booked before you leave Ibiza as you have to show that you have it sorted when you arrive back in the UK I believe.

Also, doooooooo it.

And mainly, dooooooooooooooooo it

Agree with this. Even for non-vaccinated, is it really that bad? £135 for my fit to fly, Day 2 and Day 8, £48 for my test to release + 30€ for an antigen test. To go to a ridiculously expensive island as is.

Thinking as a single person btw

Have you done it yet? If not, stop pissing around and doooooo it! @Evolution
I’m going to assume the silence is a no! I must admit, I did have a little look myself. Concluded that 34 degrees would not be a good temperature for me and my laptop to attempt to finish last quarter’s accounts! Not ideal for training either when the marathon is in 8 weeks. Or is it 7? Bollocks….
