Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

In Ibiza I wanna mix with people (know what I mean??) therefore, even if they are fully vaxxed like myself, I can still pick covid up unknowingly. As for insurance, I haven't really looked into it much and I'm sure you can get insured for a price, I do know my annual insurers won't pick up the tab so that's another issue to be dealt with. It really is too much hassle and worry; it's meant to be a week of relaxation and it certainly wouldn't be.
I've brought my mother on holiday to Cyprus (baby sitting whilst we are at a wedding).

If she was a dog, you'd consider putting her down*, the insurance was £120 for a week

*Slight exaggeration

Ohh ive got a quick question as this is the first holiday ive ever booked.about money.i remember 30 years ago when i went to spain with me late mom.she used take travellers cheques and cash them at the hotel reception.🤷🏼‍♂️ Years ago.
What do people do now adays. Could i soley rely in my visa card and apple pay.im going to cala llonga for a week.or take euros as well.
What do you people do just asking.thanks.

Same. Also can't imagine my employer would be happy if I had to quarantine over there (which surely must be a worry for others too?). I'll try again next year, though I could see the threat of quarantine lasting for a while...

You can either change cash up in the U.K. - there are comparison sites to get the best rate.

Or use you debit card to withdraw cash over there. Bank rates are generally good. Or using Apple Pay / credit card in bars / restaurants.

My employer has taken the stance that everyone needs a holiday/break, either in the UK or abroad, we are meant to run foreign holidays past them before booking. We were also meant to do this pre-covid to make sure cover was available. If it's Amber they have been sound, even more so for those who are Double jabbed + now not having to isolate with a contact. Can't see how you're anymore at risk abroad than at home really, more testing when you go abroad.

10 days in a hotel room with wife and 3 year old is a concern though 😊

Traveller's cheques! I THINK I remember them!!

My mastercard charges a whopping % of transactions, not sure about my debit card; but before covid I obtained a Post Office Travelcard which was pre-loaded with Euros and has no charges, remembering to buy everything in local currency. Works (supposedly) contactless too.

But because of covid I haven't had any chance to use it and it expires at the end of this year!!

I swear by my Revolut card for travel these days....top it up and works well with app on phone with nice security settings

I use the Post Office card because we have a real branch on a real street with a real desk so they just hand it over, finding a local bank now is like finding a quiet local bar without football/karaoke in PdB :-(

If cash is needed abroad, the key is not to use ATM's unless they are attached to a bank (rip-off fees) but never used the ones in Ibiza so don't know if they are as much a rip-off as they are in, say, Prague. Tons of stuff on youtube about that!

Was it your testing paperwork that was looked at or do you mean luggage etc? Never had my luggage done in years!!
My vaccination document

You can walk straight out without getting your bags checked but I got confused and got them to x ray mine

Took our antigen tests this morning. Sent photo of test and passport via the online form and got our certificate back by email less than 4 hrs later.
Luckily we had a spare test as one was missing the test liquid.
We also needed a ballpoint pen which we didn’t have in our room.
Process was smooth and worked well for us.
If you do buy these tests make sure you check they’re complete.
We used C19 testing.

Read in the news that the government are knocking £20 off the PCR tests you obtain on their website, now something around £60 so if you have two including the day 2 test that's still £120+ - someone's making a profit, is this why they haven't yet scrapped tests for the fully vaxxed?? Me, cynical??

What test, currently, do Brits need returning from Ibiza if fully vaxxed, PCR or the cheaper flow/antigen tests (including day 2)? Sorry if this has been mentioned umpteen times but (a) things change and (b) it's all way over my head at the mo.

I did a PCR test from Salutlabs, asked for a pin drop on WhatsApp came to my hotel room bank on time, 12 hrs later had result...test result was never checked on return, but guess ur passenger locator form u sign saying negative is single version of truth, said at Heathrow maybe spot checks there were not
