Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

Have major cold feet about our trip next week now. As we plan to be there for 11 nights, it’s just about long enough for Schapps to put Spain on the red list :( even though we are double jabbed, there is also a not insignificant chance of getting a positive test and therefore not being able to return to the U.K.

This sucks, basically.

We're due to go on the 23rd for 3 weeks. We're going to fly to Jersey for 10 days if they do put ibiza on red 😅
 
Changed my flights so I'm arrive back home a few days earlier (test to release is £48, 5 days to quarantine takes me up to something I need to attend, so still works out). Probably going to postpone my late August trip until September though.

Will go for my 2nd jab when I'm back
 
Anyone found that the passenger locator for Spain, when asking for a test type, doesn't have PCR in the drop down?

Only seems to have RAT or NAAT?
 
Worth noting that if you are waiting on last minute results, you can fill out, as long as you know when you has the test, what type etc. Obviously you have to record a negative result to progress, which you'll need to show the proof of to board.

No pressure on the currently Mrs B, who had to get tested because didn't get her first jab early enough to get her second by now, so we're waiting on result due before 23.59 tonight......

And just spotted she now needs a Day 8 test too....another £43. I'm buying shares in Randox
 
Pig sick reading all this, the going/not going pendulum is definitely swinging back to 'not going' at the moment. Really gutting. Still a slight chance things could change again by 1st September, but not looking good.

For me, I can look beyond everything, the cost of testing, the masks, the queue's, the lack of things open etc, but it is that risk of getting a positive result before flying home that is stopping me booking flights. I'll have my 3-year old with me...just cant risk it.

Holiday camps and hotels in the UK are absolutely taking the p*ss though, just got quoted £1200 for 4 days in a caravan in Weymouth! Centre Parcs earliest availability anywhere late October...supply and demand I guess...can't blame them
 
Read the Majorca Daily who say TUI have abandoned flights/holidays to the Balearics from NL. It's not looking good, and for my own sanity I've now discarded any October holiday - but not cancelled yet in case there's a massive improvement. Gonna be a long miserable winter as I can't see any winter sun holidays either, not without red/amber/green; testing etc.
The vaccinations haven't really helped us to get back to normal r/e holidays and travel, have they??

Heart goes out to everyone in that position. Simply isn't worth the risk, is it? After all when you get there you will be spending your time looking over your shoulder at the next test result (for yourself and family) which beggars everything up.

Nope not at all. I really fear for tourist destinations if this year is a wash out. People need things to look forward to, holidays especially!

I’m eyeing up going to Tenerife week after next with the family, accommodation is cheap, flights with Ryanair are aswell. The tests will cost more than the flights but it will still be cheaper than staying in Uk even if I factor in a day 5 test to release kit.

Hopefully come Monday we will see a surge in normality and people going away and I’ll make my decision. Although it might not be too bad going somewhere that isn’t too busy

I know just when we were starting to see a light at the end......

I still have hope (maybe foolishly) about my hols on 30 July and hoping by some miracle nightlife will open.....

Not allowing myself to get excited...Will be gutted/devastated if I can't go
