Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

How much did you pay for the the antigen test on way back?
€39 and they came to the hotel.

Latest is someone we travelled with has now got Covid and I also have symptoms. But I’m waiting on my day two test results.

I have done several home antigen tests and they are negative

seems strange that I have the same symptoms as someone that’s tested positive who was with me the whole time

FYI - new ferry service from mainland run by an Italian company - albeit probably of minimal use to most on here!

I was about to book our trip but with the new likely curfews/restrictions, now wondering whether to delay. real dilemma

The problem with them is there is no BCN- IBZ direct, you have to do a stop in, Mallorca.

Actually I'm very interested, as a one-off I wanted my (now very post-retirement) special trip to be first class London/Barca on the train and ferry over to the island and back.

Obvs covid finished that for me, but I'm hoping Manchester > Paris, Paris > Barca, Barca > Ibiza and then either fly home or return the same way.

Think it's also possible to do London > Barca in a day? Anyhow that's now some time off, hopefully between then and now I can find a companion to enjoy the trip with me. he or she will have to have a few bob though - but advance first's aren't all that expensive.
The shorter Paris-Barcelona is 6h34 long.

Yes, I think that's now the fastest train and doesn't require a change at the border (different gauges); think in the past I've found that it won't connect with an Ibiza ferry eg. morning out, arrive mid-afternoon and then a ferry to get you to ibiza for bedtime? Not looked recently on the grounds that there's no point :-(

yes you're right! it's confusing because further down the page it says BCN-IBZ. Damn, I thought I was being useful on here for once.

Can I plug a website? Go on then....
www.seat61.com a great site for info!

the legendary Man in Seat 61. King of the trainspotters! I heard Nightjet are rolling out a new sleeper service to BCN but probably not till 2024

Presumably you quarantine out there until you get a negative test to fly home. I know it happened to some Man City fans in Portugal for the final, and then they made it Amber list while they were quarantining !
From what ive read on insta posts and on the grapevine they move you to a quarantine hotel for 10 days... not sure if its chargeable

But I think the 10 day stay at the Covid Hotel is actually for free, it's paid by the Spanish Gov. Downside: the food is terrible and you can't leave early.
One hotel is in Bossa and I heard that because of high demand they are looking to open at least 2 more in the area. Not sure which ones though.

so with the latest advice... im in 2 minds what to do

Me and my party of 4 are all doubled jabbed so can fly on 1st august with no quarantine (if jet2 dont cancel),

We are however concerned of a few things:

* Possibly of it hitting the red list while we are there :(
* Testing positive while there and not being able to get home

Slowly getting ready to give up the possibility of going abroad this year

For return...

Currently the covid hotel in Bossa is full and they are not taking anyone in - there is a waiting list.
If you're in a hotel, you have to quarantine in the hotel for 10 days.

After the 10 days, you basically get a certificate to say that you've done your 10 days quarantine and you can get back home (apparently no need for a test)

There is no option to test to get released earlier.

We fly out to Mallorca on Friday. If they change it to red, I'm gambling there will be a day or two notice and we'll be on the first available flight back

I more often than not do it overland and always enjoy. My usual itinerary is, Liverpool / London / Paris Eurostar same day. Get a hotel near Gare De Lyon for the night. Next day get the 10.10 first class Paris to Barcelona direct, get into Sants about 16.30. Have a pint and bite to eat then jump on the overnight ferry to Ibiza in a cabin at 22.30, usually gets into Ibiza about 06.30. Similar on the return but the ferry is daytime so have a night in Barcelona then do Barcelona back to Liverpool in a day.

Not true at all
What isn't true about it? Amber list has been confirmed and there's a large number of people who haven't yet/won't have the vaccine/have only had one dose.

For me, who's in my 30s and had 1 dose, that rules out hassle free travel until September

there’s enough walk in clinics now to ensure you could be double jabbed by summer even if your nhs/doctors appointment is meant to be later on

when is your second booked for? worth keeping an eye on social media, as news of pop-up walk-in centres for 2nd jabs are often appear
