Getting to/from Ibiza latest info

I have managed to travel from Norway to Barcelona without having to show my passport, Spanish health certificate, COVID test or anything.

The only problem was the announcement on the plane shorty before we were to embark in Barcelona, that masks are still mandatory in Spain. Everyone on the plane sighed in unison. Masks are long gone in Norway. It was a disappointment.

Can’t see Spain holding out for too much longer now, my guess is at the end of April restrictions will be relaxed in Spain. Flipping hope so because we have a kid free week in July but we are both unjabbed

They seem to be fairly digging their heels in so far!

I'm sure people have their reasons and I don't judge, but at this point if I had refused the jab so far (maybe due to my sheer bloody-mindness) the lure of Es Pujols would have me down the doc's like a flash.

Many British airports are currently a nightmare due to staffing shortages, my advice would be book fast track security (which is a bit of a money making scam I know!)

Hopefully things improve before the season really kicks into gear in May

Manchester has suspended fast track until the end of the month!

The passport office have printed my sons passport (1st April how apt) , but TNT (courier) have no receipt of it. I have even been to my local depot and enquired face to face as opposed to being stuck in an endless automated loop on the phone. We've had the old passport returned days ago via second class post!!

Had to change flights twice. Easyjet had pledged for 2022 to keep flight changes for free (you just play difference in flight cost). But have recently reneged on this policy and now its £42 per person per flight. Meaning our easter (now in August) flights for Alicante to see family have cost a total of 1172 quid for 3 of us. Expecting to lose ~250quid on hotel booking too. An absolute shambles again in the UK with regards Government departments and awarding contracts.

Hi everyone, Ibiza end of April, not travelled abroad since the you know what. My question is probably stupid, but do most places take card/apple pay now? I used to get all my spending money changed into cash Euros but I don't think I'm going to bother this time. Any thoughts?

I only ever use my starling card when I’m away now. Instant notifications and you can keep an eye on your spending.

It came in handy last time I was in Hi! As the girl serving just tapped my card and it could’ve been any amount, but luckily I could see it was correct on phone.

Post Office prepaid currency card is an option, means if you lose it you only lose the amount on it and you can top it up and freeze the card from the app.

Very much so; the vast majority of places also take my pre-paid/app top-up Post Office Travelcard! On saying that, always best to take spare cash just in case (and for tipping.....); I assume taxis can deal with cards now instead of cash?

Only issue with cards is the fees/commission; always pay in euros and use a card with no fees (eg the one I use) otherwise you can add getting on for 5% to the cost of the holiday....grrr....
