Dance Music: Where are things at?

On here or in the early hours somewhere?

No doubt formal or informal exclusivity deals or expectations are a barrier to entry for newer promoters. Nothing new to be honest.

Smaller promoter's could cash in on big boys' bookings with unannounced secret guests at afterparties back in the day, but even that's been squeezed, or had when I last knew anything
i think late night somewhere mate!!

Hey

We couldn't help but notice that there's been some mention of Liverpool Events Union (LEU) in this thread.

What's Liverpool Events Union?
LEU is a group of industry players that are currently conducting crucial research on monopolies within Liverpool's music event scene. We firmly believe that promoting fair competition and diversity will lead to a better and more inclusive environment for all of us who love music in this vibrant city.

Why is this important?
Monopolies can limit our options, stifle creativity, and make it harder for smaller event organizers to thrive. By shedding light on this issue, LEU aims to bring positive change and ensure everyone has an equal chance to contribute to the thriving music culture in Liverpool.

How can you get involved?
LEU wants to hear from each and every one of you! Your views and opinions matter, and we are encouraging you to share them openly and honestly. All submissions are treated with the utmost confidentiality and anonymity.

You can participate in two ways:
  1. Email: Simply send your thoughts to union@liverpooleventsunion.co.uk
  2. Website: Visit liverpooleventsunion.co.uk to explore more about our mission and submit your views online.
Connect on Instagram:
Check out @lpooleventsunion on Instagram for updates, news, and to be part of a community dedicated to fostering a fairer music event scene in Liverpool.

Let's come together and support LEU in their mission to create positive change in Liverpool's music events landscape! Your voice matters, and together, we can make a difference. Spread the word and let's make our love for music even better! 🎶🌟

I can't say I care either way about Fred Again but this is entertaining. Clive Martin on the money, as always

interesting article that.

Whats peoples opinions on Peggy Gou's song that is inescapable? I almost feel like some industry satan helped develop a song that would take over the world. its everywhere. but at the same time, I wouldnt turn it off if its on the radio. Mental.

I've only heard it a couple of times. It's atrocious. It Makes You Forget looks like it was a fluke...

My view is he is talented and there is definately a buzz about him, but im also suspcious he has friends in high places, rarely have I seen a new artist of any genre get such overwhelmingly good press he literally could release anything and the media will say it is the 2nd coming

From what I've heard of him, I don't get it at all. Apart from him doing work on the Jayda G track Both of Us (I was surprised to learn!), surely one of the best pop/ dance tunes of the past few years.
