Security Guards
For around a month now the centre of San Antonio is being patrolled by four private security guards hired by the Hotel Association of San Antonio. Juan Planells, vice-president of the association revealed that the security guards had been employed to help out hotel security staff and reduce problems suffered in the centre of the town.
The security guards, who patrol in pairs, have a fixed route which covers around forty hotels in the area, starting at midnight and working until 7am. They are not authorized to legally stop anyone doing anything wrong, but will politely tell the perpetrators that they are committing an offence. They are also able to help tourists who are lost or need any kind of help.
