An Ibiza regular, Pedro won the competition for world's hairiest man in San Francisco against opposition from all over the globe. He'll be installed at Angelo's new hair bear terrace, the first on the island dedicated to men who love the simian look.

even if its not completely finished yet, i have been told that tonight they have an opening party for-friends-only. apparently the name has been changed to something like eivissa lounge!!

ibz lounge had an opening party for friends last night and should be open for everybody around the 1st of june!!

it opened last night. btw, the party for friends of last week it was a kind of pre-party for the dirty diamonds event in barcelona (with bruno, gianluca de tiberiis and miguel garji)..... not a big surprise that they chose this venue as the manager of ibz lounge is christopher kean, the man behind the infamous invite-only parties!!

ibz lounge is now also working as a sushi restaurant. btw, last week they finally put a sign outside with the name of the venue..... this is their (horrible) logo:

as you might remember, last summer nación tierra in sa penya turned into honey and even opened with that name a few weeks this winter as an after-hours. well, the bar is now nación tierra again

erm, it changed of name again. yesterday when i passed in front i noticed that they removed "nación tierra" off their sign.....

..... and when i passed today i saw the new name: bar pocholo ibiza 06!!

pocholo, which is famous thanks to his uncle who married the daughter of the fascist dictator franco, is doing this summer a weekly tv program for the channel la sexta called "pocholo ibiza 06" with appearances from some of his friends, like sebastian kato hernandez (what's up?), johnny golden (manumission) or tanit.....

and penelope shop, at the left, is now the bar banana!!

Tomcat Rocks Ibiza

Ibiza - Manumission's sister company, Ibiza Rocks, has just purchased a purpose-built Tomcat one 290 48 fixed legged ground support which was subsequently installed in the newly refurbished Live music venue - Bar M, Manumission's Ibiza bar on the beach.

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular][FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]The initial idea for the ground support came from a sketch from the customer and a photo of the area in which the stage was to be installed. The brief was simple - design a structure that would sit on their newly built stage giving the bands a concert atmosphere in a small venue but also to give cover from the weather, be it rain or shine. "We were supplied with a few site photos and a basic idea of how they would like the structure to function," said Patrick Lockwood, sales engineer for Tomcat UK. It was only when I did the site visit that we found that due to conditions on site, their ideas were not suitable so we redesigned and drew it on the spot."[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]Lockwood designed a system with a pitched roof to create the illusion of a large imposing stage within a limited space. This roof design has the added benefit of directing rain away from the performance area, protecting both the performers and the equipment, which is important because when it rains in Ibiza - It rains! For this reason, a small clamp on roof system was included to protect the sound engineer on the side stage. The original brief also called for a cantilever at the front of the stage to give added protection from the elements and to give better lighting positions, whilst still being capable of carrying two speaker clusters of 350kg each. This was not a problem for the lightweight yet load-bearing Tomcat one range of trussing and was easily incorporated into the design.[/FONT]

Gigs for July and August include Boy Kill Boy with Dirty Pretty Things, The Streets, Radio one DJ Zane Lowe, Kasabian and Fratellis.[/FONT]

pedro from hostal la marina is the owner of the new building at the end of c. de sa drassana in the port (opposite restaurante san telmo), including the restaurant sultan and the bar el rincón de ibiza plus the hostal above which opened two months ago. and he is now also the owner of the reformed terra nova in cala llonga, which turned from a tennis/golf club into a restaurant/event hall and opened one week ago. as you might remember, cocoon used this venue last year for their final after-party of the season
