After the success of our party last year we would like to announce our Ibiza party this coming season

It will be on Wednesday 16th August at the new Kanya which is being rebuilt as we speak and will now has 2 pools and a proper beach for dancing!!, we will be holding our free party in the day, majority of our residents be there including Matt Cooper, Skin Deep, DAT Elektronique and Dave Sandford plus more tbc and this year we wil be announcing a massive headliner to play nearer the time...

"Special punch" will be provided by us and it will be mental if last years party was anything to go by.

If your over there working spread the word as this will really be a workers party.

A beach catwalk show in front of 3,000 clubbers looks like being one of the Ibiza Rocks festival's top nights this summer.

Manchester fashion label Gio-Goi who have dressed Artic Monkeys, Hard Fi and Robbie Williams are staging the event at San Antonio's hottest new bar - Kanya at the end of August.

Kanya has been gutted and lavished with millions of euros of art deco arty decorations and rebranded, er, Kanya Beach, presumably so even the drunkest of holidaymakers make the connection.

The terracing will be "massive - twice as much as Coastline" promises spokesman and entertainments manager Mo Chaudry, better known for his involvement with Cream (tho this is not a joint project). The luvved up Liverpudlians will be take over the venue all day on Thursday before their Amnesia parties.

"We're gonna have some parties with Housesonic who have people like Soul Avengerz and ATFC" ," continues Mo. "Tuesday we'll have pre-party for Crasher Classics at Eden and for Wednesday we're talking to Filthy Gorgeous do the daytimes hopefully 8) . The Garlands pre-party will be on Wednesday night."

Friday evening Dusted will enter the building. Saturday will see Electric Sex in the daytime. On Sundays Radio 1's Julius O'Riordan will utilise the venue during the daylight hours and in the early evening.

Apparently the Judge this year wants to encourage his audience to "try a different headspace", which could mean a continuation of the breaks-flavoured formula he's currently employing at his eponymous Eden promotion.

Kanya Beach has a license till six in the am.

today diario de ibiza confirms that only san antonio has introduced changes in the closing/opening hours to avoid after-hours (they have to close at 6am and cant reopen till midday, so amnesia wont be able to reopen at 8am like they did once last september):

so only extasis, eden, es paradis, privilege and amnesia will be affected by these changes (if someone wants to open an after-hours at summum in the bay, for example, it belongs to san jose sooooo..... .....).

as you might remember, last year judgement sundays announced on their press release "***New*** for this year is the Judgement Sundays After Party, to be held in the refurbished Garden of Eden next to the club, which will join onto The Funky Room at the end of the night. Our carry on means more hours serious partying than ever before"..... as you might know, this year their press release dont mention any after party due to the changes mentioned above. well, a little cooooo-coo tells me that they plan to continue with them after all..... ..... guess where? yes, summum. apparently the idea is to get free buses to bring clubbers from eden/san antonio -----> vrooooom!! -----> to summum/san jose

the JS' after-party at summum is not happening for now, at least it didnt happen last monday morning, BUT..... theres certain promoter from eden who is doing an electric after-party this week at erm, the kinkiest place in ibiza!!

getting ready to reopen, now as the bar/restaurant duo!!

last time i passed in front of reunion, two weeks ago or so, i noticed that they were painting the interior walls pink..... ..... same colour than the walls of the disappeared shanti shakti. well, seems like reunion only lasted a few weeks and its now the new location for shanti shakti. taken from the ibiza sun:

caprabo was in the news at the beginning of the year because of their problems to open their first shop on the island, in the new vila parc center near can misses to be exact. back then it was reported that they had to reduce the metres in order to get the opening license (from 870 to 415).......... a friend who works in the new bowling center (which opened last friday) told me that almost one year later they still have license problems because now they have 1000 metres ( ! ). apparently if they reduce it to 800 they will be able to open in january. apart from the new bowling center (owned by the guy behind cine cartago and the multicines), the sirenis group offices (owned by matutes) opened long time ago and the cam bank (owned by the devil too) opened recently!!

as you might remember, last summer nación tierra in sa penya turned into honey and even opened with that name a few weeks this winter as an after-hours. well, the bar is now nación tierra again

after 65 years open the restaurant formentera in the port (famous for its borrida de ratjada) has closed its doors!!

a little bird just told me that it has been rented to pizza hut who will open their 6th restaurant in ibiza next year. as you might know already, the other five are in playa den bossa, west end and av. dr fleming in san antonio, santa eulalia and av. ignacio wallis in ibiza town (btw, the last three are open during the winter). on a curious note, the owners of the franchise in ibiza are the same people behind casino ibiza (and yes, also the future 5-star sal ibiza gran hotel)!!

in related news, the same people will open next summer the first dunkin donuts in ibiza. this winter they have alredy built the fabric in mallorca

the restaurant capricci in the west end (at the right of krash), which has been for rent during the whole winter, is now called vitamina's

the striptease bar gorms garage in the west end (renamed temptation this summer) is already doing building works. apparently the legendary bar, opened in the 70s by pepe roselló from space who still owns it nowadays (and known back then as el refugio, a restaurant with bands playing live), will be a space bar!!

although last year there were already rumours circulating about it, according to which pepe was interested in doing something with gorms garage (which would make perfect sense after the fiasco when he tried to open a new club in ibiza town, near burger king, and later in san antonio, near villa mercedes where now theres the town hall, and the authorities said nooooo), seems like next summer it will be rented again by the same people so no new space bar for now. apparently they want to make it bigger (upstairs) and renew all the electricity installation

apparently it reopens as temptation on june 16th and next year, according to different sources, it will finally turn into a space lounge bar

after some delays temptation finally reopens today, june 24th!!

well, at least that was the plan. this is what andy g (electricsex) wrote on DSI:

We’d originally booked the German swingers club (Beverley) in Port D’es Torrent (perfectly seedy venue – unbelievably INCOMPETANT management) who told us at the last minute they hadn’t thought about organising overtime staff, ordering booze, even sorting out their licence - so at 8pm on Friday evening, we were venue-less for the afterparty…..nice one.

After a few phone calls, we found an even more special venue just around the corner – The Brujas – Port D’es Torrent’s friendly neighbourhood whorehouse ( ! ! ) …..

What happened there is probably best kept between those who attended, but it did include another phenomenal set from Uncle Timmy, a strong turnout of Ibiza’s party people and upwards of 20 extremely friendly, pole and table dancing ‘working ladies’…..one of the most bizarre venues we’ve ever had the pleasure of frequenting - let alone throwing a party at…..VERY ElectricSex…..
