Im going to cancel mine if this follows on the mainland are we are going to(Valenciana) . I can easily go about my UK day to day living in a mask and work in one (scientist). But throwing thousands at a holiday and have to do this isnt for me. Id rather save the money for a time when (if?!) we can holiday without mask use being as strict. I dont think that point of view is hard to understand?
Yes, I entirely understand but the way things are it could be a long time before we have such freedoms. At some point everyone needs to adjust to the way things are. If some people don’t want to have a break to a lovely island due to this then that is entirely up to them but all I am saying is it could be a long time before this changes.

I personally wouldn't cancel a trip over this. yes it's a nuisance but equally when there's noone around, you're not going to comply, let's get real here lol.... it's not like London with CCTV on every corner. are you seriously gonna cancel a holiday over a bit of cloth on your face?

of course, if you're cancelling because the clubs are shut that's a different story but I'm sure there will be some music to be found

+ I would also keep options open because the Spanish and regional governments are updating the rules all the time - it is hard to keep up. if you are in a position to get a late deal that would be my approach

Well made points. Maybe I am overreacting. It’s probably just the reality that we go to Ibiza to escape normal life and the worlds problems. This year, that’s just not the case sadly.

Going to Andalucia in a few weeks with the kids, it's going to be a pain getting them to wear a mask especially in the heat. But I understand why its necessary. It will be added to the list of things I have to nag them to do ??‍♀️
Think I'll be spending most of my time swimming, eating and drinking anyway so hopefully won't be too much of an issue once we arrive.

at this moment masks are not obligatory in andalucia but the government may contemplate following catalonia and the balearics if there are any spikes

I think this is a bigger issue for many of us than the clubs being closed.

this exactly! also what does "in the moment of drinking" mean? put off the mask when sitting down for the entire stay in the cocktail bar? or putting the mask aside for every sip of your drink and basically sitting on the terrace with a mask on? that'll be the crucial detail.

I don’t want to get into being accused of being a denialist, but is it really necessary? Outside? With thousands of air particles around?
Personally, taking children on holiday and keeping myself safe as possible is my top priority. I can't imagine getting the coronavirus with children in tow in another country. So I'm happy to try eliminate even the tiniest risk factor. And it's my choice to go, so got to go with the flow.

That will absolutely kill tourism, if my wife gets wind of it she will want to cancel now and change our holiday for next month to somewhere else as that is not a holiday having to be masked up all the time.. I can imagine will be the same for many no matter how much you love the place it just gets to a point when it no longer makes sense
Exactly what my wive said to me when I told here... for now we will wait and see what August brings. But if it stays that way in September, not sure if we even will fly.

Well this is shit. Outdoor transmission is as close to nil as possible. This is almost like the British government, bringing in a new rule at completely the wrong time that only hinders things for their own people.

Will watch how this is enforced and if it stays in but if it really is looking like wearing a mask for 90% of the holiday i know my mates will be cancelling.

this is exactly how I feel.

so far it was 5-10mins a day. now it'll be far more. I'll be honest I am frustrated with the news today.

We're going for dinner in about 90mins. Can't go to the pub across the road from the restaurant before dinner because they can't open for another 2 weeks without doing food ? book later sitting so we can stay in the restaurant that bit longer.. 5mins Walk from house no masks or gloves.. #blessed

Nail on the head. I think that detail will be make or break for a lot of people. I fly at the end of August so plenty of time for rules to come (and go).
Having a villa over a hotel would definitely make for a more enjoyable experince if this rule is still enforce then.

Classy beers on bench near the restaurant.. nice view

Adore that view!!

So gutted for the ones that have booked and we're looking forward to experience a quiet ibiza this year.

This mask news is a real kick in the balls :(

and you can walk around the sand dunes on low tide. It's 3 different beaches there and a natural dam...

How much do you think they will enforce the mask rule?

I expected to wear it walking around Ibiza given the narrow streets (and which I have been doing most of the time in the UK) but it's meant to be mandatory at airports in the UK and I've heard plenty of reports of people not doing so.

Are they really going to enforce it in bars, restaurants and venues?
