How much do you think they will enforce the mask rule?

I expected to wear it walking around Ibiza given the narrow streets (and which I have been doing most of the time in the UK) but it's meant to be mandatory at airports in the UK and I've heard plenty of reports of people not doing so.

Are they really going to enforce it in bars, restaurants and venues?

I think you will stand out by not wearing one which means drawing attention and more likely to get stopped and you are unlikely to be allowed in a venue or bar without one. (residents please confirm this??). You may not get fined but if you don't mind being looked at and treat like a leppa by the locals I guess you will be okay....lol

I've gotta be honest, I'm really annoyed by the mask thing. At first I was just "meh, we'll deal with it". After talking to my partner we are now on the fence and looking at just cancelling our flights for Sunday. Really don't know what to do, and with very little clarity at the moment surrounding wether they need to be worn in restaurants when eating and drinking is not helping. We need to make a decision tonight else we can't cancel our dog kennels and cattery if left any later. A real kicker.

Well this is shit. Outdoor transmission is as close to nil as possible. This is almost like the British government, bringing in a new rule at completely the wrong time that only hinders things for their own people.

Will watch how this is enforced and if it stays in but if it really is looking like wearing a mask for 90% of the holiday i know my mates will be cancelling.

The balearic government does not like the party scene neither in Mallorca nor Ibiza and have been looking to reform it for a long time. So to be totally honest I'm not surprised. Nuking the whole vacation season surprises me though. Spain is going to take a leading role in the "EU-bailout" as well. Think what we see is sadly mainly political. It doesn't have much to do with health at all at least not for now.

at this point, I'd genuinely say 'forget nightlife here this year'. the last meeting hasn't brought any changes and the latest mask stunt is leaving me without any hope in regards to improvement for clubbing

EDIT: you can't order from the bars directly from 10pm onwards, but you will still get served by a waiter.

In your opinion do you think the mask rule will be reviewed every couple of weeks and end up being removed or that it will most likely be in for a while yet?

Also is the no alcohol after 10, but closing at 2 really a thing? The most illogical of rules if so and makes no sense, it can't be? Or are they specifically trying to give terrible guidance to confuse, like the UK government? It's probably to make bars close earlier, but why not just limit them earlier if they know that people will just continue to serve and stay open rather than customers just going home at 10:30 when their drink is finished.

What does this mean for a restaurant? If you make reservations at 21h, are you prohibited to order another bottle of wine at 23h and an espresso martini at 01h?

To clarify: what ends at 10pm is the chance to be served at the bar but if you're sitting at a table of course you can continue drinking whatever you want until 2am.
