If you are booked to go and can do the quarantine on return you should be able to get insurance with battleface.com they cover non essential travel regions and COVID medical expenses
So glad i went to Ibiza 2x last year. Personally i dont think the Island (especially the Party Scene) will ever be the same. The only way they will open up Clubs in the future ist with serious contact Tracing, immunity-passports etc . And thats only if we dont get the Economic Crisis of our Lifetime, wich we will probably have, especially in Spain (I mean, what do you think will happen after a second wave, and a second Lockdown.). Time to get used to the new normal.

If there is no medical solution , we will have other problems than clubs.
If we have a solution next year , it will be the biggest season of all times. Everyone who is
at home this year will come 2021.
I see problems with flights , because some
airlines will be much smaller than usual.
They reduce capacity and cannot get it back next year

germany has just given out a travel recommendation saying don't travel to aragón, catalonia and navarra. THAT makes sense. UK approach doesn't.
Without wanting to descend too far into politics, the current UK Cabinet is short on experience and, many would say, short on competence, not just on Covid matters but more generally. Jobs were given to those who supported Brexit, those who didn’t were left out. The problem is that if you Venn diagram “competent Ministers” and “Brexit supporting MPs”, you have a pretty sparsely populated middle.

I don't think Captured would really work with this format, especially given the cost ticket holders would have paid

It seems like a bit of a cop out on our governments behalf now putting it souly on the traveler that the risk is theirs for booking / going on holiday. I dont know how they can one minute say its safe to fly then get away with stamping on the breaks now people have made the purchase. I seen on GMB that Croatia is entering dangerous territory? Their levels look really low im so confused

testing travelers on return should of surely been the first better option

Agreed. We booked to go to Tenerife on August 26, about a week ago, specifically because the FCO advice was that the Canaries and Balearics was ok for non-essential travel. To change that advice with no significant increase in risk data for those places, is rubbish

It is a political decision. But whats the sense ?

The Divide And Conquer Approach
The Latin phrase “Divide et impera” is as old as politics and war. The divide your enemy so you can reign approach is attributed to Julius Cesar — he successfully applied it to conquer Gaul twenty-two centuries ago (no typo).

There is one part of me that thinks a travel corridor might open up again in a couple of weeks, especiallu if Ibiza cases remains low. But then on the other hand you are getting deep into the season by then and the government might just think it is not worth it for the sake of a few weeks. I'm still hopeful though...

its crazy mate, people are going to look at that as 'well its a pandemic' and obviously no travel is a good idea but it is still not their narative since 4th July leaving a lot of people feeling its now the time to get back on the horse and to salvage a little summer again.. now the list of destinations in the firing line and looking in trouble again is growing with imo very little logic even heard Greece mentioned when their figures are really low

to me it feels a little political I must admit

the way I see it, it's pure politics. the British government decided to exploit the outbreaks in Catalonia to tarnish the whole of Spain in order to distract attention from the British government's own ineptitude and also to boost local tourism under pressure from the British tourism lobby - whilst the Spanish meanwhile were pissed off with the French government for warning their people against visiting Barcelona. It's totally understandable that every lobby is looking out for their own in the current climate but I suspect it is cynically disguised as 'concern' about other countries.

I think the people of Ibiza should also partly blame the Balearic government. The UK media has reported a steady flow of negative news from the Balearics, including in particular the mandatory mask rule. It helped paint a really negative picture in the UK about the situation here. I am still perplexed by that decision.. I think perhaps the Balearic government thought British would feel safer by it (yeah right..)

Nah, why would mandatory mask-wearing increase the risk, which is what the Govt should be considering? And they've kept the clubs closed
