Christ, it's getting to the point where I wish Ryanair would just cancel the flights and I could get a refund. Still not had refund for cancelled trip to Seville back in May yet tho. :lol:

Help the economy at home no doubt. But I just had a staycation and everywhere is rammed. Popular restaurants were booked up for days and most pubs weren’t doing drinks only. It worked out for us in the end just about but not sure I’d want too many holidays like this
 
they should of never eased off if all they were going to do was pull back and mess people around further at any change. if people had little faith in travel before they will be definitely avoiding it now.. people cannot afford the 2 week iso and if it has happened to Spain it can happen to anywhere that sees a sudden spike ..just another reminder this virus isn't going away any time soon 2021 is starting to have a giant question mark over it

Tourism give a lot jobs in the countries from where the tourists are.
Airports , Airbus , Travel agencies and a lot more. Its a industrie not only in the travel countries.

And then the tourist buys a asian smartphone from the saved money ?

Let’s be honest - the U.K. voted in a government that played up to little Englanders, taking back control etc etc. So we reap what we sow.
 
If you are booked to go and can do the quarantine on return you should be able to get insurance with battleface.com they cover non essential travel regions and COVID medical expenses

But not if a trip is cancelled

The policy does not include cover in relation to Covid-19 expenses for trip cancellations, curtailment of a holiday or lockdowns.
