What's going to happen to SPACE after 2016?

I agree, the way Matutes has transformed playa d'en bossa, the new "Ushuaia Night" will be modeled right after Vegas clubs like hakassan or XS too. tacky, commercial, artificial and sterile places that can hardly be called a "club" in my opinion.

oh and by the way, how often has a vegas "nightclub" been voted into the worlds top 5? right, never o_O
 
I thought Ushuaia had a good opportunity to give Space a facelift that would make it an incredible club for EDM fans as well as "underground" fans. Really get the vibe that they are going the Vegas route and may not even use all the rooms?? Pretty horrible news. Not sure it's a smart move either given that Vegas clubs are already moving away from EDM. The worst part is that some good parties, like Music On, may be completely ruined by moving to the new Space that has a dance floor filled with VIP tables.

because it´s about location, location and location.
space-building is on the "wrong" side of the street with zero connection to sand and sea.so it will NEVER be like destino, lio or even heart ...
 
From what I was told in January, the new owner doesn't want to renovate, and NOTHING related with the name "Space Ibiza" will be there from next year!!
 
What's funny with Ushuaia is that they get proper DJs for their opening and closing that have nothing to do with their lineups for the whole season

Nothing funny about it. They know what sells

They are cash cows. They know the people who go out for openings and closing a are educated dance music fans.

They know the music during the season when there are a mixture of punters they can sell tickets to the EDM cheesemongers.,

Though PDB beach is not exactly luxury. That's what pisses me off with the whole Ushuia thing.

It's all about some sort of higher status which in my eyes is misplaced.

The only positive from this I can see is that San An potentially has a chance to pick up the business. Unless it tries to copy of course...

Probably doesn't matter where Space sits now. Sounds like it's all part of the bigger picture to turn the whole of pdb into a Vegas style strip

The change has coming until my peaceful place of Portinatx,with a luxury hotel,and a new "hippy-chic" :rolleyes: restaurant called "los enamorados" wich are opening this year...:spank::spank:

At least Pacha in itself has Balearic roots though (for me) the line ups stray a little.


Paul Reynolds, who is one of my favourite resident DJ's plays at Ushuaia so I feel bad keep putting the boot in but if those guys thought a gigantic LED screen was a good idea then what really is next for Space?
