I know some people who are(were?) working on this project,but my last news date from 6 months ago,maybe it has changed?

And before we all jump on the anti-EDM Ushuaia thing, lets remember that Ushuaia gave us all a chance to fill the place c2011-2013....they gave us 3 to 4 "underground-ish" parties A WEEK in the early days: Luciano, Loco Dice, ANTS, Sasha, Tong (who had a lot of good guests)............. BUT.... they never filled these nights to capacity [because we all never went]! So.... they did what they had to.

My only time in Ushuaia was the Closing in 2013 (I think)... I thought it was grim!!! Good DJ's, but ZERO atmosphere!!! Everyone just kind of standing around looking at each other!! Plus, there's the issue of the pool... The pool that is pointless, as you're not allowed in it!! Ushuaia, to me, is like the clubbing version of Manchester City!!! A genuinely grim place, whose sole purpose is to get as many rich people in as possible, whilst trying to become the greatest club in the world that is built on a foundation of no history whatsoever !! ZERO atmosphere!!! They're miles away from the likes of Space, Amnesia, DC-10, and Pacha!!! And with rich owners, like Man City, they'll just keep throwing money at it, somehow thinking that that will make them great!! Joke of a club... Both of them!

essentially, if you want to hear good music in PDB in 2017 you'll have to go to sankeys (assuming they don't cave in to commercial pressures) because the rest of the resort will be a nest of dickheads.

So true!!
My only experience is Used & Abused with Loco Dice in 2013. Great music but no atmosphere and people really standing around doing nothing...Worst thing was a father with his three daughters suddenly standing in front of me and coming from dinner who was moaning around about the music and the "masses" of people disturbing his vacation...such a joke!!!

with all the ushuaia bashing (and the terrible plans for space) going on let's not forget that it is NOT ushuaia that rips off punters the most but AMNESIA as far as drink prices are concerned ..
my nights out at amnesia have always cost me a looot more than ANTS for instance!

Good point, but think of the business model. Ushuaia has higher % of people that drink alcohol I suppose, so they don't need to charge as much. How many people at the bar at 6AM at MusicON? One thing I will say the token thing at Ushuaia does speed things up. What is it, 6 long drinks for €80? .... so €13 a drink.

well as a punter I couldn't care less about any business model, that's not my job .. All I care about is that 13-15 euros for a longdrink is fairer than 26 for a vodka bull (amnesia).
I had great parties at both, so no. but of course I prefer amnesia.

The IMS gives 'Leyenda' recognition to Pepe Rosello

The eighth edition of the International Music Summit today reveals that the owner of Space, Pepe Rosello, will be in charge of receiving the 'Leyendas' award annually recognizes the work in the music industry.
It occurs at a turning point, which will be the last season of Space,
one of the best clubs in the world.
The event, known for 'Legends Dinner', will take place on the legendary terrace of Space Ibiza on Wednesday 25 May and will be hosted by Ballantine's Scotch whiskey.
In his own home, Pepe Rosello celebrate his 27 years as head of Space Ibiza
and recognize the undeniable contribution of Ibizan employer to local, national
and international music industry.
The co-founder of IMS, Ben Turner, said that
"the closure of Space, the club created and directed by Pepe Rosello,
means the end of an era for Ibiza.
The island will be another island with the end of Space.
The passion and love Pepe for music is always materialized in the club.
He was the only owner of a club to which the public received with the same fervor as the DJ.
Pepe has done much to Ibiza, creative and politically,
and therefore without certainly deserves this recognition
from the music industry and IMS. "

Half the people getting worked up about edm in Ibiza were into guetta and shm 5 years ago anyway, and now feel they are too cool for that as they are on the Berlin techno / sheep house bandwagon these days.
