doesn't have a lot to do with money in the first place. ushuaïa owner owns space land and space's lease is up...

Yes - but they obvious reckon on generating even more cash for themselves with whatever they develop. Suspect also it's as someone mentioned in another post, trying to slowly but surely change the image of the place and attract a new/different crowd to the Island. Interesting times ahead either way.
