Less sunbeds is VERY good!

[Neo95gt: i don't understand most of your posts... I always wonder what you've been smoking to get certain conclusions!]

I agree about the sunbeds.

I was just asking a simple question, you post a lot of pro-regulation stuff and I was curious your stance on open air parties.

you post a lot of pro-regulation stuff
I share stuff that calls my attention, that doesn't mean I necessarily agree with it. In this same thread Nobbie Q wrote that my posts always have links to some sort of bad news so maybe I should post less from now on?

Regulating stuff isn't bad per se, let's take the clubs cappacity as an example... if something like what happened in the Madrid Arena some years ago took place here it would damage the Ibiza nightlife image forever!

Ps. As a regular to certain open air events, those venues are perfectly fine for me!

I hate overcrowding as well. Ruined DC10 for me and many other parties. I just hope it doesn’t result in a loss in atmosphere or increase ticket prices.

I really was just asking a simple question on the open air venues because it does seem you enjoy posting anything that is anti nightlife/holiday’er and I’m trying to figure out where you’re coming from.

Craig , please Stop (the cavalery :D)

we all hate the sardins effect in club, u have to deal with as ibz getting more popular year by ear
Be smart & look for the right spot, or secure the dancefloor if having a pack
Carl Cox aug 16 in Space was a party i havent courage to walk towards dj booth & stayed in the back close table with some place to dance

Please don’t stop posting so much. Please post more with some positives about the island. There is a certain negative tourism tone to your content. I imagine you have access to all sorts of interesting positive content from your vantage point. Not a criticism btw, I just suspect you have a lot more to offer.

Many of them would be well advised to be careful what they wish for then with the Spanish economy being the way it currently is. I wonder how many of those residents are young adults who don’t have to look far to see a Spanish youth unemployment rate of 38% (as at August 2017).

the island’s economy won‘t suffer because of a little less sunbeds. lots of people (me included) think that a tiny little less congested ibiza (beaches, roads etc) will provide a better holiday experience.

Generally or in particular locations?

on a lot of the beaches. not generally, but san josé‘s beaches are some of the worst when it comes to this

Tbh, McRackin is one of the few people on here that do highlight important goings on.

If theres a 'negative tourism' slant to some of it, it is only an echo of what is happening on the island right now. Tourists should be made aware of how their activities and the practices of those catering for them, are affecting the local population.

I actually always thought it provided a little balance to the inevitably optimistic slant of a commercial tourism website. Less saccharine on this site the better.

As for positive posts, over the past 13 years of using these pages and visiting the island, countless printouts of Mackies posts, notes made from his threads etc. have accompanied me to the island as im sure have many others. Hes also one of the few people who champion the island's rock/live music scene.

Please don't change at all.

How is it possible to ask McRackin to post less?

Please don't stop, if it helps just a few tourists to understand the hidden face of ibiza, the difficulties of the residents, it's a victory.
Ibiza isn't just a big club.

That’s not the point @stivi and you know it wasn’t. I was responding to @McRackin general post that ‘the pressure of the locals is working’. My point being that the locals would be well advised to be careful what they when for if the consider the economy of all of Spain and what props Ibiza up. Youth unemployment in Ibiza abc the Balearics is a third if that on the main land because of tourism.

still very much agree with McR. in my view, the vast majority of the locals are absolutely aware the island needs the tourism and the wealth it brings. i really don‘t think we‘re getting tourismophobic, but it‘s a very simple truth that lately, the massification has led to scenes that start to be unhealthy for the island and are thus undesirable to the locals that a) want the island to stay beautiful and liveable and b) want ibiza to be a quality tourism destination in generations to come. and to achieve that, certain things must change

The island could definitely use to be a tad less crowded. When I went to Cala Comte last year the road going up to the cliff was a complete disaster.

Some of the bars and restaurants got too greedy. Putting their chairs on every inch of beach possible. I mean look what happened to PDB. It’s a commercial clusterf*ck. I wish the gov had focused on what that strip looked like instead of worrying what time the clubs closed.

My beef with the gov are the closing times and ban on outdoor partying. Complete overreach and unnecessary in most cases. They are going for this VIP, island gentrification thing that I think will be a complete disaster.
