Might be worth checking with the venue/cops to see if other women have reported this. Without going full amateur criminologist, i’d guess this is repeat behaviour. They might find the same faces on cctv.
Funny you should mention it mukka, she actually had a phone call back from the police today
they have been busy in the background it seems.
The police have been very good about it. They initially interviewed the bar staff and analysed the CCTV footage from the bar. Apparently the footage has been very helpful, although they won’t tell us specifically why. They did say that they can positively identify my daughter in the footage, and she certainly doesn’t appear to look drunk or like she is about to collapse.
Now they are going to interview more people, and the case has apparently been moved on to another team that are working on similar incidents.
Her friend, that was with her on the night, told the police that a group of lads had approached them before the incident. Apparently trying to make small talk and offered drinks. Maybe totally unrelated, but the police have taken an interest in this part. Maybe they are repeat offenders, like you say.
They sent a specialist officer around to the house a few days after the incident. She was brilliant. A lovely woman, she is obviously well trained and experienced in her job.
Unfortunately, for some reason or another, the hospital didn’t drug test my daughter when she was in the hospital. I thought this would be a standard practice, but it never happened. The police aren’t very happy about this at all.
Im not sure how it all works, but I thought it would be a critical piece of info if they could find out what substance had been used.
I’m not holding my breath expecting any sort of result to come back, but I massively appreciate the work the police are doing for us.
I talked it over with my brother this morning. We agreed that it is nearly impossible to catch these low life’s. In a perfect world a policeman would knock at my door and hand me a piece of paper with a name on it, and then tell me they’ll turn a blind eye to anything I do.
I still can’t shake off a deep feeling of guilt, about not being there when she needed me.
I’m just glad it didn’t turn out worse.
We were very lucky indeed.
Others aren’t, and I really hope these bastards are caught somehow.
