Weekend Plans

Been great weather in Oslo. Almost 30 dgr yesterday. Nudist beach was packed, although the average age is 30 years older than in Ibiza.

Bit of drama at the yacht club where I keep my boat. A large cabincruiser arrived with the police quietly following behind. There seemed to have been an incident out on the fjord. No fine was given, just a warning. But the owner simply laughed at the police, whilst his wife got angry with them. In the old days the club might have done something. But now there are too many of these nouveau riches to do anything.

Loving the weather. Beach and a little freedive sesh yesterday checking out what remains of the resident spider crabs and gathering some nice seaweed and coastal herbs for a sea bass supper - though miffed to have had to share the beach with 2 people and a dog. Even the really isolated places have someone at the weekend right now !! Our fish was topped with sea lettuce, wild chamomile (pineapple weed), rock samphire, wild carrot flowers and mugwort buds. I love knowing what local wild plants are now - never come home empty handed from a trip out.

Gardened today - bad decision, way too hot for it ! Hopefully get out on the paddleboard tomorrow when the wind drops back down a bit and I can get further along the coast to my favourite rocks.

Ahhh .. they let in any old riff raff who can pay these days it's the same anywhere

After seeing videos of clubs re-opening all over social media yesterday - cannot wait to finally hit the techno dancefloor this weekend after 18 months, it's going to be special atmosphere, the whole crowd will be absolutely buzzing to be back...

We've got a hell of a summer ahead of us in London, benefits of living in the capital, the events we have currently booked:

July 24th - Reopening Weekend Fabirc with Ben Klock, Craig Richards etc.
July 31st - Dixon @ Village Underground
August 7th - AME @ E1 London
August 14th - Solomun Open Air @ Finsbury Park
September 3rd - Amnesia Pyramid @ Drumsheds
September 10th - We Are Festival Coxy & Charlotte

May need a bit of a rest after that schedule, hopefully will be over to Ibiza in September/October if the clubs can open by then...

That list even puts @FallenangelGparsons Ibiza schedules to shame!

I'm down there for Solomun 2 nights staying right by Finsbury Park. Doesn't look like there's many bars/restaurants round there for the Friday night - can you recommend any? I'm reet Northern so i've no idea about London

Victoria line - easy to head anywhere decent - King X, Oxford Circus - or head east Shoreditch etc

Agree with this … not sure if you have paid for your hotel but you might consider looking at Citizen M hotel in Shoreditch as pretty easy to get to Finsbury Park and much nicer to stay with more life … Uber to Hackney Wick for the Friday night could be fun … we are going to Solomun too but can’t stay in town as no dog sitter just dog watcher …sorry should have tagged Bareben

2021 is turning out to be the year you got to go on whatever kind of holiday whilst you can. This weekend will be the start of my 4 week holiday in Greece. Crete is a "red" island, and today's infection numbers are up from last week. This is the kind of trip where everything can go wrong. I'm therefore taking a tent, 10 days worth of dry-freezed food, 12 books - and I will be off the grid (wild camping) most of the time. There'll be no partying, just socialising with Greek tourists doing the same as me. I'll probably do a section of the E4 hiking trail in-between doing nothing.

I did a similar trip last year, although with not enough books, and not even a smart phone.
