Top tip: Watch out for pickpockets at all times

This is the one that gets me every time I see it. How many times I've seen some out of it ladies in the middle of DC10 or Amnesia with their hand bags open or round the back of them! I mean come ON!

that's what I mean with people not being aware of pickpockets.

nobbie - I don't know of anyone in my circle of friends who ever had their mobile stolen from their front pockets. but then again I don't know how wasted you tend to get ;)

Just dont take your phone out. Or get one which costs £10 and swap sims. If you wear chino shorts roll up your money tightly then fold it, so it fits into your inside waste pocket same with the coins if its cent i just leave it. No chance will they get that. Also credit cards put on the bottom of your foot , then apply your sock and wear trainers. Did this last year and had no problems, just a sweaty card haha.

And with the chino trick, even better when you wake up you realise you still gotta a €50 note left :) buy them from next or ordinary shorts but make sure they have a inside pocket.

Security
Robberies in the 'parking' of sa Caleta
The restaurant owner says that every day is recorded theft inside vehicles parked on the beach

The owner of the restaurant ibiza Sa Caleta, Jordi Cardona says that a daily theft, at least in vehicles parked in this area Sant Josep occurs. In addition, most of those affected are tourists circulating in rental cars. "They are living bands of these thefts," Cardona said after being asked by this newspaper.

According to the businessman, the thieves have not waited for the peak season to commit crimes. In April several tourists were stolen personal belongings of their vehicles. Cardona pointed out that, unlike other beaches in the municipality, in sa Caleta have no trouble peddling, but thefts are common. For this reason, for two years hire a security guard for the parking and placed there four years ago posters to recommend tourists not to leave their belongings inside the car.

"Those who come to steal are very good. Are educated and dress in ways that go completely unnoticed, "said the businessman, who already complained about this problem in presenting the plan of crime prevention, prepared by the Civil Guard for this muncipio, held on May 9. In his opinion, such initiatives between the security forces and citizens "are very positive" and stressed the involvement of the local police of Sant Josep and the Civil Guard in this regard. He also stressed the green line start to report criminal acts and the preparation of the information leaflets that is preparing the Meritorious for tourists. "This is to inform tourists not to scare," said Cardona.

Among the crimes that occurred in 2015 on the island, 80% were burglaries or vehicles. As for the modus operandi,
Cardona said it is always the same: "They break the small of the back doors of glass, put the hand, open the door and take everything in."

I was advised if you don't have fully comp to keep doors unlocked with nothing valuable in the car, as you'll be liable for the broken windows if the car is broken into. Dunno if thats advice i would follow myself though.

guess if u putt a lot of trash/clothes in ur can , claiming u r a tramp, they wont steal anything even its a renting car? :D this will be my tip to avoid in order not to have the car 's glass broken & all stuff disappeared..
i was a little lazy to carry my drum with me anytime & let it in the car covered by sea sheet but i guess for ibz aug 16 , ill bring my drum with me ...i may be affected by 400-500€ loss :p

so here's my story: alone at dc10 opening and drunk like hell...last thing I remember: sitting with some people backstage in a bar at pdb ....can't remember how/when I got back to the hotel.

Next day woke up in panic but everything was still there: credit card, glasses, mobile phone.....also felt not abused, so everything ok then :)

I don't trust anyone at the beach. Always be alert+..:)

I went to Calla Bossa last year and I "risked" leaving my bag on the beach while I went for a swim and once when I went to the restaurant bathroom. Nothing happened but I was wary because I heard it was risky. But I didnt' care too much because I didn't have any valuables inside.

First vigilante against theft in the field of Ibiza
Thirty residents of Santa Gertrudis, Sant Carles and Santa Eulària organized groups that travel the roads day and night to deter thieves
Participants communicate using 'whatsapp'

Twenty reports of burglaries of the island in eleven days

ibiza "sick and tired of the lack of police resources against theft" neighborhood groups in rural areas of the island of Ibiza have begun to organize citizen patrols to monitor the environment of their homes and control the presence of suspicious people or cars halt the escalation of thefts in the field.

For a week, between 20 and 30 people from the areas of Santa Gertrudis, Sant Carles and Santa Eulària are forming groups take turns according to the time availability of each to travel the roads and communicate through whatsapp incidents observed the object to remain alert.

One of the residents of Santa Gertrudis involved in these patrols, Toni Roig said that this is a spontaneous movement and not subject to any platform or organization formally established. "Simply put, we are people who are afraid and we got home without knowing what we'll find. There is no Civil Guard, although we say otherwise, and while the statistics say that robberies are down, the reality is that they are going up, "he said.

Six steals in a house
Roig explained that one house in this area last year suffered five steals in a row and has suffered another this summer. "Before this sinvivir, people who can participate will spend two hours or four, according to their job opportunities and family," he said.

The patrols began a week ago in these parts of the island, especially hit by this scourge, but its members are confident that the example will break out abroad elsewhere.

While they are declaring grateful to the efforts of the troops ROCK Civil Guard, lament the lack of government: "Every time I reported a burglary I had to wait for the Civil Guard in a bar to drive home, but when there are elections not no problem for staff to let me find my house notification where I vote, "he said.

Indeed, yesterday morning the Security Board of the municipality of Sant Joan met with the presence of the insular government delegate, Roger Sales, and the commanders of the Civil Guard and the local police in this town, which has four or five effective, depending on the season.

The mayor, Antoni Marí, and Roger Sales listened to neighboring tourist areas of the municipality and picked up their complaints about thefts that occur on beaches and other places frequented by visitors. However, they said they had not reached their complaints about burglaries.

"We have to be happy because I think we are improving gradually," said the mayor of Sant Joan, referring generally to public safety in the municipality. "Listening to neighborhood associations and remembering, some problems have been solved or are solved way," he said.

Sales and Marí explained that it has created a body to coordinate the work of the Civil Guard and the local police in Sant Joan, who will meet periodically, to act together.

also it will launch a Plan Delinquency Prevention in summer and special attention to be paid illegal parties.
