The footy !!

one more time...

united didnt want or couldn't afford to keep him!!!!! it was city, chelsea or madrid.....he chose city!!

probably cos he knew he would get to play than be sat there warming the bench at the other 2 places...

as well as a big fat wedge...

calm down calm down. ;)

i never branded him small minded, was simply saying that even in professional decisions, your values as a human being come into it. some people will go to a rival, some won't, that's all i'm saying.

jj - he chose city over chelsea or madrid, defo must have been about the money!!!

Nail, head....

......he's the sort of player that can only be loved because if his committment and style of play. ..... If you hear him talk even now he talks of his love for the man utd fans and of his mixed emotions should he score against them.I fail to see how after all that, joining City demonstrated a "lack of class" as you put it??

There weren't many mixed feelings on display tonight JJ.....

I accept Liverpool on current form are a top 6 side but the simple fact is that all the big signings only joined Citeh for the money.

None joined because of a desire to play for Mark Hughes
None joined for Champions League football
None joined because they were boyhood fans of the club

It's Chelsea / Blackburn Rovers all over again (except the latter had a decent Manager in place: KD)

You say Torres and Gerrard will disappear across the M62, I say they have more class than to simply follow the money. If either moves on, it won't be to Eastlands...

This is such a lame argument

You act as though money is a singular reason. For some, maybe it was (Gareth Barry? Joleon Lescott). But there are very likely other reasons that you & I aren't privy too, and some that we are.

For the 1 millionth time, Tevez didn't quit Man U. He was tossed out with the bathwater. Thus his reaction tonight.

And yes, Champions League football could very easily have been a motivation as there's a decent chance they'll be playing it next year.

And before you start equating Chelsea with Cit, don't forget that we've still got JT and Super Frank who wouldn't leave the club any sooner than Carragher or Stevie G.

It shouldn't have been a penalty but that's just the way that went. Tevez defo came back to haunt man u. Shouldn't have took him off. The difference in city's play was night and day when Banjani came on. He's a lazy git.

This is getting really tedious now, stop mugging yourself and drop your little bone ffs!!

Fact eh? why? because you say so?

oh well you clearly have a man on the inside then to know that so thats me done eh? how can i argue with that?

You know what, most of the grief we get re signing players and their motivation for joining us comes from scousers and its beginning to get a bit tiresome! whats your problem? is it because your team is imploding and you cant stand to see your once poorer near neighbours slowly eclipsing you and becoming one of the countrys top 4 clubs!! I do empathise with you, I have had to put up with mediocrity for most of my life and its not nice, but sticking one over the rags once or twice every few seasons does make it more pallatable!!

oh and if you want to reignite the debate about players who lack class

3 words.... Gary Fcuking Neville!!!!

all this talk of it not being a penalty, there seems no mention that from where we were sat in east stand valencia looked offside for united goal and the linesman who missed it seemed to have frostbite and was unable to lift his flag in the first half....now if we want to start an unbiased lets stop having a go at city thread can we slag off the officials who seem in all the home games i've been to this season are 'un-fit for purpose'??
