The Footy... (2011-2012 season)

I see a transfer or a lot of pouting in his future. Get out the pram!

If that's his ****ing miserable face, I'd love to see him ecstatic...

Typical press bull****

Drogba going for sure. Off to China according to all the major papers' websites.

Strengthens Torres hand.

Before this, Chelsea should have had him the office and asked him who it was who was going to pay the £50m he cost for him after the season he's had.

Real question is whether Chelsea trust Torres to deliver for a whole season.

Hmmm... it's a tricky one.

I think that should Drogba indeed leave, then Torres will flourish. Don't forget he came from being the biggest fish in a small pond, to a team full of superstars. Drogba was already the fans idol and talisman. Torres came in when he was already on a poor run of form, the massive fee involved put more pressure on him, and Drogba & him never really gelled - plus it never fit Chelsea's formation to select them both anyway.

At Liverpool, with Stevie G sitting just behind him, the whole of their play was molded around him - at Chelsea he was expected to fit in to an already proven system. And he was forever in Drogba's shadow.

I see similarities as to when Andy Cole joined United.

Cole had a terrible first few seasons with them. Why?

I personally believe it had a lot to do with his relationship with Cantona, and Cantona's relationship with the fans. There was never any on-field chemistry between them, and it wasn't until after Cantona retired, then SAF got the best out of Cole. Hell, he had to sign a replacement in Yorke to get the best out of him!

I really don't get all this uproar in the UK about JT participating in the cup presentation.

He, Meireles, Ramires and Ivanovic were banned from the match, not from the celebration. They were all integral parts of our long march to the trophy. Why shouldn't they take part? And so what if they changed into kit to match the other players?

You English can be so petty

Crockery factory's been broken into. Police suspect JT of lifting the cups!

They should have been banned from watching the match live. They could have celebrated when the cup returned home.

Just officially announced. Sad to see him go, but glad he gets to go out on a high and still at the top of his game.

Whatever his shortcomings (drama!) he's still a top notch striker and, by all accounts from friends who know him, a really good person. What other football player has been credited with stopping a war and donated all his commercial endorsement money to build hospitals?

Legend.

I didn't like his drama, but I admit he is a good footballer.

Drogba's wife used to convince him to go to China.
