The Footy... (2011-2012 season)

According to Hodgson, he saw Oxlade-Chamberlain play well against Pirlo and Ambrosini v AC Milan. Ambrosini didn't play, Pirlo is at Juventus.

how Phil jones is in that squad ahead of micah richards is beyond me .... never an england international... started well for Utd when he signed but he has been found out big time....so many games ive watched him looking lost at that level.....

funniest comment on the BBC breaking news page was along the lines of..

"i've got the same number of EPL goals and assists as Downing - where's my call up?"

:lol::lol::lol:

hahaha.

yeah the downing one is a shocker.

Liverpool fans have always thought of Kenny Dalglish as one of their own, a feeling that will increase even more now that he's unemployed.

Super disappointed that we sacked KK , don't see how sacking another manager is going to make us a better team and club.

Arhh well hopefully we can get someone who plays good football and can attract some big names.

While I'm a little sad that KD has gone, and think he should have been given until at least Christmas to start turning htings around in the PL, you can not fault the way in which it has been done. It is a sign of the modern game unfortunately and he and the owners have been very dignified in the way it has been handled. He can hold his head up high (Suarez handling aside) and will be still held in high regard throughout the club, 45 years he has been associated with us, through the amazing times and the tragic times. I wouldnt be suprised if he comes back sometime in the future in an ambasadorial role like before. He brought stability to the club after the last owners and Hodgsons departure, and got us some silverware and to wembley 3 times.

A few dodgy signings aside there is the basis for a decent side, so hopefuly the right man can come in and tweak a few things and get us back up the table. For me I wouldnt mind Benitez back, but would prefer the likes of Deschamps or Klopp, my number 1 choice is highly unlikely to come though...I'd love Mourinho but its never going to happen

as a neutral in the Liverpool issue....

- handled the Suarez situation disgracefully from start to finish
- handled press interaction like a rank amateur, in this day and age you need to be media savvy
- landed a lucky windfall in Chelsea paying £50m for a player that was struggling - yes the net spend was low - but the total actual spend was still 100m + - what he did get was the chance to make a team better rather than get in one-two players
- the signings have been largely poor

Enrique ok, Suarez - great (excepting the whole racism issue)
Carrol - abysmal
Adam - never a top team star
Henderson - abysmal
Downing - worse than abysmal

- all i hear about is "hitting the woodwork" and dominating teams and not getting the rewards....surely then the January window could have seen an actual striker being bought to finish the good work up to scoring - Jelavic was a steal for everton and would have propelled Liverpool to Europa League at least

A Carling Cup is nice but top players don't sign for teams due to 1. past history or 2. winning the 3rd domestic trophy

Top players want CL football and a challenge for a title too

Dont think the owners every wanted Kenny there in the first place. They postponed the inevitable due to the respect Liverpool FC had for a Club Legend. That will stand to them.

As a neutral myself, I would 100% agree that he handled the Suarez racist issue terribly showing a complete lack of judgement.

Best of luck to the man....he may return in another 10 years!!:p

I think Kenny has done quite a good job for us in his time here.
Our run at the end of last season was very good. Even up until the middle of January we were still in quite a good position. I think we really did need to bring in a striker in Jan which we didnt do and that has been a major part of the downfall.

Every non Liverpool fan has been ripping our team apart all season saying how poor it is.
We still had the 3rd best defence in the league, (the best until the end of Feb)

Weve created the most chances out of any team in the league just our conversion rate has been the poorest. If you were to add a proven finisher to our squad i think our whole season could have been different.

Stevie G has been poor by his standards but i feel since Lucas has been out he's not had faith in Spearing doing a good enough job so hes had to cover for him a lot. Lucas coming back next season will make a massive difference.

I think Kenny should have been given another season with a kitty to buy another forward and/ or a playmaker.

Anyway onwards an upwards. :D
