The Footy... (2011-2012 season)

I think Kenny has done quite a good job for us in his time here.
Our run at the end of last season was very good. Even up until the middle of January we were still in quite a good position. I think we really did need to bring in a striker in Jan which we didnt do and that has been a major part of the downfall.

Every non Liverpool fan has been ripping our team apart all season saying how poor it is.
We still had the 3rd best defence in the league, (the best until the end of Feb)

Weve created the most chances out of any team in the league just our conversion rate has been the poorest. If you were to add a proven finisher to our squad i think our whole season could have been different.

Stevie G has been poor by his standards but i feel since Lucas has been out he's not had faith in Spearing doing a good enough job so hes had to cover for him a lot. Lucas coming back next season will make a massive difference.

I think Kenny should have been given another season with a kitty to buy another forward and/ or a playmaker.

Anyway onwards an upwards. :D

Every team can say if the ball bounced one way or the other they would have done better. The advent of not playing in Europe will hurt them at signing new players and keeping some of the ones they have. To be honest LFC was out of the top four at the beginning of the season, and will have trouble make Europe next year.

UEFA national team coefficient, does it mean anything or just a bunch of crap?

Spain 39,964
Germany 38,294
Netherlands 37,821
Italy 35,838
England 34,819
Croatia 33,677
Portugal 33,226
France 32,551
Russia 32,477
Greece 31,268
Czech Republic 30,871
Sweden 30,695
Switzerland 30,395
Serbia 29,811

I wouldnt mind Benitez back

Surely not?! Not really though? Really? REALLY?!

I'm sorry, I can't believe you're actually a Liverpool supporter (!)

Look at what the buffoon did to your club last time around. Look at his mess at Inter...

No, sorry, I'm not having it.

Even if the man wasn't a complete idiot (which he is), surely he wouldn't want to go back to Liverpool anyway, the way he was disposed of last time?!

Do you think he'll have to beg for it like the Chelsea job? I hope not....

That was really shameful. Even I felt embarrassed for the guy. And I think he's a douche!

I reckon he'll be a bit like Ranieri - in that the press will link him to every top-half Prem vacancy going, but he'll never return to these shores... I hope!

Liverpool are playing in Europe next season.....

I said if we had a proven striker we would have done better, of course this would be the same for any team. We were creating a ridiculous amount of chances but not finishing them, all other teams in the league were not.

Look at what Jelavic & Pienaar did for Everton, it was looking a bleak season until those two were signed, they got the goals everton were previously lacking.

They are at least two years old those rankings, newer ones have been made.

!

Won the Champions league, got us to another final and got us our best finish in the premier league...

Martinez has been approached about an interview for the job...

Cant believe bookies offering 4/1 odds on Chelsea winning in 90mins tonight....what a great bet considering its only Bayern they are meting in the final not Barca.

I have fond memories of previous Chelsea games with Bayern, when the Special one was in charge. Great football and nothing between the two teams......always goals scored between them due to their style of play.....

Good match, Bayern missed too many chances. The football gods were smiling on Chelsea. congrats to Chelsea. The Spurs got bumped out of the CL.:(

Oh my head :(:(

And I have to get on a plane and fly to Ibiza!!

Think im going to name my next child Drogba :D

Congratulations to all you blues.

Deserved winners for your last 4-5 years consistency in the competition, not for this year but I guess it's better late than never.

My favourite joke from the match on twitter:

"That's the quickest John Terry got his kit on since the last time Wayne Bridge came home early from work.....!"

Redknapp for the Liverpool job?

I hope not :p , do want AVB. I think Rafa is somebody i respect greatly but i think we need to move forward and i think AVB has a point to prove and we could help him with that.

We have a good spine when everybody is healthy, need a few good signings and we can compete at the top imo.

Redknapp for the Liverpool job?

No thanks, he'd never move up north. Chelsea however ;)

2 things, how come JT was allowed a medal ?? And what are the chances of the likes of Bale and Modric now staying with the Spuds without CL footy or their owners being able to refuse huge amounts for the coffers now ?

Will be an interesting close of season with the managerial situs at LFC and Chelsea and the comings and goings of players in the league. Oh and there's a European championship going on also, should be an entertaing summer. :p

Redknapp loves his home in Sandbanks too much. He/Kevin Bond drive up every morning!

Modric prob will go...
Bale will give it another year and see if we can get CL.

The club has money, but would prefer to spend it wisely than spunk it all on one big name.

;)

6 finals, 12 years. We don't do losing.

Doh!

Congrats West Ham the team that took their chances won. I'm pleased with the way we approached the game ad I'd rather we went up playing the football we do than the hoof ball the Hammers do, Next season will be a real slog for them and it might actually be a God send that we stayed down as we have to go for the title next year. Saturday really hurt and not just the altercations with a few fans :spank:

I'm relieved the season is now over though so I can get away and get re-charged for the next one.
