The Footy... (2011-2012 season)

Was a great result for the prem. United can go top if they win the early kick off and with City having to play Arsenal there is every chance it could stay that way.

Just shows how far we have come, ie the 12 men of Chelsea, securing a narrow win over 10 man City and celebrating like they had won league. I have checked though and we are still top!

How far you have come.....you have just spent a ridiculous amount on proven world class players. Until you can win a title like Man U or Arsenal have with teams built from scratch you havent gone anywhere.

Man U built from scratch???

Oh yeah those academy products Rooney, Ferdinand, Evra, Vidic, Ronaldo, Nani, Cantona, Staam, Scmeichel, Anderson, Fernandez, Veron, Van Nistelrooy, Cole, Solskjaer, Yorke, Berbatov

I think someone needs to do a little more evolving

Ooh... so much there to bite on

12 men... a reference to the ref, of course. The same ref that should have sent off Kompany 5 minutes before Clichy (I know, I know... you could have had a penalty too).

We are celebrating as we would after any big victory. Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool would be the same (not so much Spurs). Plus, we just broke your unbeaten streak.

Should have Johnny...should have ;)

Hence my point in previous post, fairly self-explanatory I thought?

The win opens up the EPL and gives the top 4 a chance to get to the top. I will watch the match later

We won't mention Toure trying to take out Ramires by attempting to rake his boot down the back of his leg

Clattenberg up to his usual tricks of saying he saw offences at the time easily worth a red but that nothing was wrong

Ah yes...i clearly forgot they were all at United when they first started winning the premiership

I think the ref was bad for both sides, but the first mistake with the pen was the one that could've changed the outcome.

Chelsea could definitely still win the league, thought Romeu was good again, but I swear he cant be spanish , he looks Rumanian or from some eastern european country.

Pleased for Lampard too, you can tell how much he loves the club.

True about Lamps. I do hope he adjusts to his new role of not playing every week or coming on as a sub (a la Giggs) because he's still got something to contribute.

Romeu and Ramires just get better and better every week.

Ramires was brutalized all over the pitch. I thought he had a great match but felt sorry for him as Kompany, the Toures, Clichy & co clattered into him at every turn!

Torres £20m? Yes or no?

if i supported a team that actually signed new players i would take him i reckon. i think he needs a run in a side and a chance to get his confidence back. he was unbelievable for the reds for most of his time there, you don't just lose that ability.

he's a class player, but it's not true that you never lose it. look at fowler, he went through a series of declines starting bad knee injuries in the late 90s, he was never the same player from about 98/99 and yet still had 10 years top flight football after that. such a shame.

he's had his fair shares of injuries and especially niggling, persistent ones in the 6/7 months before he moved to chelsea. who knows if he's recovered or ever will from that.

it's also obvious his confidence is shot to ****, like struggling to control the ball and stuff, as a fan you end up applauding when basic things are done right, a dribble, a pass, having a shot. it's also not just a given that you can recover from having had a bad spell for a year.

in support of all this is the fact that he was totally consistent as a player in terms of goals and appearances until towards the end of the 2010 season when he kept getting hamstring injuries and then had a knee op. he was never the same in one single in the first half of the season before we sold him to chelsea.

sadly for him he was a nobody at the world cup win.

Schmeichel and Cantona were along with other home growns such as keane, Ince, Kancheslkis, pallister, Mclair, Irwin, Bruce.

David Villa broke his leg in Japan. I hope he gets well soon. This is bad news for Barca and Spain. His move to the EPL will be postponed.
