The Footy... (2011-2012 season)

wheres the footy banter gone?

Chelsea fans quiet recently? :) Time for the over 30's to make way I think.
Morbs, will Roman stick with AVB for much longer?!

Thought Mancini made the wrong decisions on tuesday. League should be in the bag though

Arsenal have come back strong but Spurs probably looking best of the lot right now!

Cracking game in the San Siro yesterday.

Arsenal has looked good of late, but it has been all Van Persie and his 31+ goals this year so far. The gunners need another person to score. Gervinho seems like money poorly spent and we still look shaky in the back. They have won their group, but I think the have lost too many points early to have a chance at the EPL title. Liverpool has looked good in the EPL and CL. Man U on the other hand needs help to make it into the knockout round. Chelsea is looking like they are getting long in the tooth. Man City and Spurs are both looking good.

Its funny how the tables have turned with Arsenal and Chelsea. I think it could be a 4 way battle for the 3rd and 4th spots.

Liverpool arent in Europe by the way ;-)

Why is it that AVB seems to squat for most of the match, does he get a better view of the game being lower down?

Liverpool have played well against the bigger clubs and got some points from them as seems to be the case these days but we drop far too many points against teams like Swansea & Norwich who we really should be beating.

Arsenal (Van Persie) are looking good at the moment but as said i think they could do with some extra fire power. Gervinho has played well in the games i've seen, Arteta hasnt been as much as an influence as i thought he would but time needed to settle and all that.

Man U havent been playing well at all for the last 5/6 weeks but they have been getting the results which is the sign of a good team. They are lacking in World class players these days with only Rooney being one of those IMO opinion. Young is definitely needed back asap for them i think.

Tottenham and City both on fire and with the midfields they have its rather easy to see why. I can honestly see them being the top 2 this season. If Tottenham manage to keep the players they have playing regularly atm fit they should do very well.

i really hope we beat City on Sunday at Anfield to pull them back and open up the title race some more.

Long way to go yet.

Agree ferd, as much as I love Zab, I would have gone with Richards at RB especially on recent form Kolarov is capable of better, he was disappointing. Milner, was, as he has been all season, magnificent.

Should have brough Kun on earlier or even started with him.

That said, going into half time we were comfortable, 2nd half, too slow out of the blocks.

Another big game Sunday

Interesting week in the champions league. Arsenal 2nd team gets thumped and Man U gets sent packing by Basel. I forgot City also crashed out so that leaves Manchester 0 for 2.

Last night I sat and watched by beloved team win 2-0 against Bayern in the Champions league.
We remain unbeaten and top of the premier league
Still in two other cup tournaments
Players on our 2nd team I would never have ever thought I would ever see at our place (unless it was against us)

If you had told me all this a couple of seasons ago I would have told you to take more water with it

Yes, thanks to Drogba back on form again :)

Problem is hes as temperamental as a child and by next week he could suck again
It's been more a question of defense though, hasn't it? Needed to find a system that would work to let us attack but not leak goals.

Drogba can have his off days as long as Sturridge keeps firing and Mata keeps lining them up for everyone.

and Romeu improves even more ;)

It was a cracking nights footy.

Was flicking through the City, Villareal, Man Utd, Ajax and Lyon games... amazing.

Something DODGY went on in Zagreb.. 7 goals in 45 mins??!!!!
Theres a photo somewhere on the web of a Zagreb player winking at a Lyon striker after the 5th goal!!!!

Torres loaned from Liverpool to Athelitco Madrid for the rest of the season.

:lol:psst just a rumor I made up. someone started the Zargreb tanked the match rumor so why not add another.

All this talk about this high-line is overated. We've been leaking goals from set-plays as well...

Romeu is looking like an absolute steal at the moment, maybe we can send Mikel the other way...
Generally agree on the first point. We've looked more solid with Romeu as holding midfielder. Probably been practicing set plays more too seeing how we repelled all of Valencia's corners & free kicks.

I just hope Barca don't exercise their buyback clause for Romeu!
