The building formerly known as Space --> HÏ Ibiza

I'm just really surprised he's basically playing like every week for In The Dark

ITD is really around those 5 guys.
as mentioned earlier, if nothing's changed since it was explained to me, every week 4 out of those 5 residents are there.

So it's not a night where they each take it in turns curating a line up and the room? So they will all be involved in all the events as a collective and programme it all together? I thought for example the rooms could of looked different and have different features based on whose takin centre stage each week?

That's what I thought at first would happen, but it doesn't look like it. Luciano and Joris and Nic seems like a strange combination to me (which seems likely to happen now) but when I think about it, all three of these guys end up playing similar "underground" hits so not too different I guess.

They could also be in each separate room at the club and curate lineups within those rooms?

This is a good point I didn't think about them maybe each curating a room within the club but even then with a 18 week long residency it doesn't leave any room for any change at all. I thought you would have Luciano taking control and implementing his style one week and then it would change to Nic and he would put his ideas across and so on. Having 5 DJs all trying to make one night is surley a disaster waiting to happen, no?

I think having 4/5 guys there each week is pretty strong and a much better pull than any of them by themselves.

That's not what I meant. There would obviously be other DJs there each week. I thought they would each be inviting a selection to top class guests in to programme a night around there individual styles and how they interpreted the night. Surely Luciano will have a different idea to how he would like to take the night than Nic Fanciulli for example, whose styles I personally feel don't match? I'm not saying having all these makes a weak line up in saying I don't see how they can all be pleased and happy as they much all have different idea with what they want to do with the space and night.

joris, nic and kölsch have been playing together for years. they are very used to be sharing decks. lawler and luciano on rotation in the second room, what's the issue?

(edit - I am merely suggesting things here, but I could see it happen that way)

I think its a good move for Hi. How often do people book their holidays before lineups are announced and end up missing their fav DJ a week either side etc.

With these guys having a consistent lineup almost every week, youre pretty much guaranteed to see who you want.

Re Black Coffee: It doesn't bode well for your underground credibility and -sounds if PARIS HILTON likes your set o_O

Her ex-bf Afrojack is gonna come out with some serious techno tracks soon, so it won't be long before him and Paris start playing DC-10 and Mosaic nights.

Don't care what you lot say - I really like Steve Lawler and respect him a lot - always have done. King of the Terrace after the Peasy and Blocko era - legend!!

Anyway, any news for Hi Sunday yet? Or even when the Hi closing party might be yet?

Sorry but I have to give some credits to Afrojack on this one... He used to produce tracks under the name 'Kapuchon' with Benny Rodrigues aka ROD. Releases on Dave Clarke his label as well as Steve Bug, Len Faki, Liebing and Shlomi Aber. So yeah he loves techno too. They played a b2b set at Mysteryland and Toffler. He started his career because he loved Benny his sets at Now&Wow Rotterdam. Benny also said Afrojack is one of the most talented producers he has ever seen. He didnt start this because of money, but really for the love of music!
