The building formerly known as Space --> HÏ Ibiza

Quite the guess, i just dont see the fit. I think someone else said in another thread (maybe @white_isle_calling or maybe yourself?), this night seems to be a move over of Pacha's old "Insane". We Are The Night w/Nic, Joris and Kolsch, Vagabundos w/Luciano, and then throw in Viva w/Lawler.

Think it may have been myself who said this. I said it feels like this is just a reinvention of Isane at Pacha! And I honestly feel it is, Nick and Luciano both done this last year and clearly didn't work well enough for Pacha to keep them on so I guess there only hope is that the new venue draws people in.

Looks like Steve Lawler is doing about 13 (out of the 17) In The Dark nights - and the weeks he isn't there he will be at Ants on the Saturday. I am sure the Ushuaia guys know what they doing, but Ants+In The Dark+Black Coffee all looking like ahhhh Ants 3-times a week!

IIRC every week 4 out of the 5 residents should be at in the dark. maybe there were changes to that, but I believe this was the original plan

Actually on both July 13th and 15th he's at both In The Dark and Ants! Lawler overload

Yes. And as a few of us have said, on the face of it Ants+In The Dark+Black Coffee all look very similar in terms of brand and line-ups. I suppose the "hi....In The Dark" offering is different to a pre-midnight party outside - but still looks a bit overload to me. I may just be talking rubbish though...

well...don't forget that up to a certain extent (and really without wanting to sound negative), they had to take what was available and guarantees them numbers through the door. always keep in mind that lots of the big artists are already locked down in contracts elsewhere and there were artists that did friendly decline offers to play there this year (just as it happens to all the other venues too in all fairness!).

Well let's see how it all pans out...We still don't know how the club will look and that could be the difference maker for the repeat name DJs.

not sure what difference it should make? it's gonna be very modern that much I can tell.

I think the venue of a party also factors into decisions of where ppl wanna go, and not only the DJs. If Hi does something new and makes it interesting it can make up for the names, no? ( Not that the names so far are bad anyways)

ok so from the punters view - yes sure.

I guess once people have overcome their negativity towards the fact 'space was taken away from them' (I'm not saying it isn't true, just trying to be objective here and airing what lots of people say) they will be curious to see what's all the fuss about at hï. it's a new venue and new places always attract people.

I agree with this. And as we have said before, Jack and Jill from Croydon are gonna rock up for their two weeks in Ibiza, see some names they know at Hi, have a few drinks, get some gear and then dance all night. They aren't going to write a thesis about the cultural impact of Space on Ibiza. They've worked their tits off all winter and just want to get smashed on their two weeks away.....

very true.

Has Steve Lawler much pull anymore... always found him a right knob to be honest

LOL. Interesting question. For me, he's seem like the right fit for Ants. I dunno why, it could be the style of party.

I'm just really surprised he's basically playing like every week for In The Dark
