no mate not a fan of Pacha, I know it's different of a Solomun night but will be doing Space closing. I went Space closing a couple of years ago but didn't get in there until 2am (slept in oops) so missed the car park and don't want to miss that again. Are you going?

Just surfaced from last night. I genuinely don't know what more can be said about this night. But another absolutely amazing night. Next level stuff from Solly! And the beautiful Ida too....

first s+1 I missed in a long time this summer. had to have a break, but good to hear it was great :)

As you commented a few weeks back the atmosphere is just electric there at the moment. It's addictive. They just have everything working there at the moment from the crowd, music, lighting atmosphere.... Everything. As always a bit of a DJ party in the booth too. Tongy & Dubfire smiling... Never seen that before from either of them!

ive attended like 6 s+1 last summer and this summer..

huge difference in terms of crowd between both summers.

Agree. Crowd mix has never been an issue for me personally. But for anyone that still has a slight reservation about the crowd at Pacha it really is so different for Solomun. In fact I'd say there are now less posers and hangers on on that dancefloor than there are at DC10, where a lot of people still go because they think they have to!

I have been to the S+1 with Michael Mayer on the 9th of August and it cemented my opinion on Solomun again: Such a boring night in terms of music and vibe. Sure, a lot of hands / mobile phones in the air moments, but in terms of dancing...hmmm...not really. After the first hour Solomun went into the harder / more techno side of sounds, which wasn`t really interesting at all. Many pepople left at 5am, so it became really nice in terms of space/room to dance. Then funny enough he played some older tunes like "Cirez D - On Off" or "Sebo K & Metro Saxtrack", which nowadays don`t make me dance anymore. As I said many times before:
I know his sound for some years now, as he is from my hometown, and I am still impressed that people get so crazy about him.

Sorry just totally disagree, but each to their own. I genuinely don't know how you can say it's boring in terms of vibe. Do you want circus animals and flying women on tight-ropes too? Most club nights often involve hands in the air..... Often a sign of people enjoying themselves!

Yes each to the own opinion , but for me his track selections live and on recordings are unbelievable . No one can put a set together like solomun , although his mixing isn't always seamless the rest just makes up for it .

We have somebody in our circle who think he's boring as well... the rest of us are completely dumbfounded as to where this comes from. If some people don't get it, they don't get it I guess.

No sign of Solomun overkill then? I'm surprised he isn't running out of steam playing 2 residencies, afters and making guest appearances at selected other parties. Can this go on?

I like him, big fan of his old Watergate mix and always enjoy his sets..still see him more as a party dj though. Surprised by his meteoric rise to island royalty if you think Sven and CC have put in decades of work and he seems to be rubbing shoulders with them.

His enthusiasm is infectious/second to none I'll give him that.

I found RT flights from Tampa for $703 and im flying back to ibiza this summer..even though i was just there in July...anyone going to Solomun and Sven?

I feel the same. I've always loved solomuns earlier (trademark) sound, around the time of the noir remix. but the minute he nowadays puts on these harder/techy tracks he becomes just like any other boring tech-house sod, and we have enough of them already. I felt that he changed his sound as early as last season, and he said so in an interview. what a shame :(

I don't think I can be listening to the same Solomun sets that other spotlighters are! Very eclectic. Nu-disco, deep, progressive, classic disco. Some real curveballs.

Form the "How was your trip section":
Pasha was great, from what I remember Solomon's set was abit heavier than the last time I seen him but enjoyed it all the same.

I agree he's got heavier. I'm just not sure how that translates to "boring". Or "just another tech house DJ".

solomun definitely plays harder/heavier than he did when he still had his neon nights at sankeys - he completely changed his style. already last year though.

...but tech house? I wouldn't call tech house what solomun plays. in my ears it starts from deep house to deep tech and then back to classics, but tech house? no.
