from the ibiza sun:

New Neighbours Association For Sant Antoni.

Presenting in public at the weekend the new neighbours association, which has been created to represent those living in the centre of Sant Antoni, the president, Maria Carmen Muñoz, said that the main aims of the association were to get the town hall to apply the by-laws correctly particularly with regard to cleaning & rubbish collection, noise levels & the closing hours of bars, pubs & clubs.

i think the bus station looks great and is a fantastic symbol of san an's regeneration.:D :D 8)

as has been said previously, miles better than a few stops that nobody knows about by el faro or some inconspicuous stops on the main road into ibiza town.

February really is a big month in Ibiza. For starters the San Antonio festivities are still lingering on - this weekend sees a fun cycling event for all the unfit 'porkers' in town - and now is the time to visit the nearby village of Santa Ines to see the thousands of almond trees in blossom.
this friday is the annual full moon walk through the blossom from the fountains square to santa ines!! :p

hi,
will people still be able to sit in front of the decking, closer to the sea or will there be no access to this, bit disappointd by this happening. many good memories there and i personally think it will spoil the vibe if your unable to get closer to the sea and sit on the rocks. also is there anytime when this will be complete, im coing on 30th june and ould like to think it would be complete by then

cheers

as you can see, between ses coves blanques and sugar sea the front of the buildings facing the promenade has been covered with stone:

except in front of the sunset bars, the promenade makes some strange curves (where they will put banks so people can sit) as you can see in these pictures of the part between rey de copas and the apartments ali bey:

the plan is to start covering with tiles the section that is ready next week and in two weeks or so, preparing to install the platforms for the bars :!:

apparently the recovery of the sea front will also include removing all the earth (where the sunbeds used to be) to leave only rocks down there.....

but places like mambo manmake their beach anyway, so will they not do this now??

i have a webcam feed on my active desktop at work, and have been watching this go on, but all i can see is just outside Savannah's i didnt realise it was quite as extensive as this

Im still wondering how they are going to construct the path between ses coves blanques and sugar sea as parts of that is very narrow indeed and overhanging the sea, I remember last summer thinking that that part of the path was going to collapse into the sea because of coastal erosion, I suppose it will be like the path which runs down to the aquarium in calas de moro which is equally as steep and very precarious

In the summer when u have the likes of pete tong @ Mambos and the amount of people down there that promenade will be packed with people dancing and tables from the bars!!

How would it be much use for people just wanting to walk past!

To me it looks like they should of build it close to the sea and away from the bars so that bars and punters can still enjoy the space they had.
